TX-EXTEND – Extension module
For Your Safety
Intended use
TX-EXTEND is an extension module for the HMIs of the TX product family with
plug-in module.
The devices may only be used as described in these instructions.
Any other use is not in accordance with the intended use; Turck accepts no
liability for any resulting damage.
General safety instructions

The device may only be assembled, installed, operated, parameterized and
maintained by professionally-trained personnel.
■
The device only meets the EMC requirements for industrial areas and is not
suitable for use in residential areas.
■
The device may only be used in accordance with applicable national and
international regulations, standards and laws.

ATTENTION
Risk of short circuits
Destruction of electronic circuits!
Do not connect or disconnect when energized.

Remove the protective cover.

Maintenance
Clean the devicest in regular intervals with a damp cloth.

Repair
The device must not be repaired by the user. The device must be decommis-
sioned if it is faulty. Refer to our return acceptance conditions when returning
the device to Turck.
Disposal
The devices must be disposed of correctly and must not be included in
normal household garbage
Approvals and standards
The products have been designed for use in Hazardous Location according
ANSI/ISA-12.12.01.
These products have been manufactured for industrial use in combination with
the HMIs of the TX... product family. Their operation complies with the provi-
sions of Directive 2014/30/EU.

ATTENTION
Operation in residential and commercial areas
Electromagnetic disturbances!
The device only meets the EMC requirements for industrial areas and is not

suitable for use in residential areas.
Safety notes for the operation in hazardous areas (only approved in
USA and Canada, no ATEX Certification!)
NOTE
The Power, input and output (I/O) wiring has to be done in accordance with
Class I, Division 2 and in accordance with the authority having jurisdictions. For
U.S. in accordance with Article 501.10 (B) of the National Electrical Code, NFPA
70 and for Canada in accordance with Section 18-1J2 of Canadian Electrical
Code.

Loss of Class 1, Division 2 approval in case of substitution of components
