Terminals for earthing or equipotential
bonding
The enclosures are fitted with an internal and an
external connection for the earth conductor (PE)
or the equipotential bonding conductor.
The number of terminals provided for the PE
must be at least equal to the number of circuits.
The minimum permissible cross section of the
PE terminal is shown in Table 2 as a function of
the maximum permissible cross section of the
associated phase and neutral terminals.

Table 2:
Minimum cross section of the PE conductor
terminal
In order to ensure a neat arrangement of the
conductors and secure connection of the con-
ductors to the installed terminal blocks and com-
ponents, a minimum clearance between the
enclosure interior wall and these components or
between two components must be maintained;
this clearance is dependent on the cross section
of the conductors as indicated in Table 3.
If there are parallel rows of terminals, clearances
at least 1.5 times those listed in Table 3 must be
maintained. In the case of versions with a mount-
ing plate, where it is impossible to bring the con-
ductors in under the terminal blocks, at least
twice the clearances given in Table 3 must be
maintained between the terminal blocks.
The clearances stated in Table 3 need not be
maintained in the case of enclosure interior walls
that do not have any cable entries.
