Maintenance and care

The following safety instructions must be observed before cleaning or servicing the device:
Disconnect the mains plug from the mains socket or remove the batteries from the battery
compartment.
The device is maintenance-free. Never try to open it. If you do open it, the warranty will be
rendered void. Only a specialist who is familiar with the risks involved and the relevant
regulations may carry out repairs or open the device.
Before servicing or repairs, all devices must be disconnected from the mains supply.
The outside of the device should only be cleaned with a soft dry and cloth or brush. Never use aggressive cleaning
agents or chemical solutions as these could damage the housing or impair the function of the device.
Check the technical safety of the device regularly, e.g. for damage to the housing or wall power supply etc.
If you have reason to believe that the device can no longer be operated safely, disconnect it immediately and make
sure it is not unintentionally operated.
It can be assumed that safe operation is no longer possible if:
the product or the wall power supply shows visible damage
the product does not function any more
the product has been stored for a long time under unfavourable conditions
the device has been subjected to heavy transport strain

Disposal

At the end of its service life, dispose of the device according to the relevant statutory regulations.
Disposal of used batteries/rechargeable batteries
You as the end user are required by law (Battery Ordinance) to return all used batteries/rechargeable batteries.
Disposing of them in the household waste is prohibited.
Batteries containing hazardous substances are labelled with the symbols shown to the left. These
symbols also indicate that disposal of these batteries in the household waste is prohibited. The heavy
metals concerned are: Cd = cadmium, Hg = mercury, Pb = lead. You can return used batteries/
rechargeable batteries free of charge at the official collection points of your community, in our stores,
or wherever batteries/rechargeable batteries are sold.
You thus fulfil your statutory obligations and contribute to the protection of the environment.
