This section describes the machine´s safety equipment,
its purpose, and how checks and maintenance should be
carried out to ensure that it operates correctly.
WARNING! Never use a machine that has

faulty safety equipment! If your machine
fails any checks contact your service
agent to get it repaired.
Prevent unintentional start by turning the
safety key to '0', removing the battery
and waiting at least 5 seconds.
Cutting cover
•
The cutting cover is designed to reduce vibration and
to reduce the risk of cuts.
Checking the cutting cover
•
Make sure the cutting cover is not damaged and that
there are no visible defects such as cracks.
Engine brake handle
•
The engine brake is designed to stop the engine.
When the grip on the engine brake handle is released
the engine should stop.
Inspecting the engine brake handle
•
Start the machine according to the starting
instructions, see "Starting and Stopping", and then
release the motor brake handle. The engine should
now stop. The engine brake should always be
adjusted so that the engine stops within 3 seconds. If
the motor does not stop within 3 seconds, contact
your authorized servicing dealer.

MACHINE´S SAFETY EQUIPMENT
Removable safety device
The safety key is located under the battery cover next to
the battery. The safety key is used to activate the battery,
which powers the motor.
Safety key check
•
Check the safety key by starting and stopping the
engine. See instructions under the heading Starting
and stopping.
•
The motor should only be able to start when the key is
turned to position 1.
Start inhibitor
The start immobilizer prevents unintentional start by
stopping the handle from activating the motor.
Check of start inhibitor
•
Fold in the engine brake handle towards the
handlebar and make sure the start inhibitor prevents
the bar activating the starter motor.
•
Make sure the start inhibitor easily returns to its
original position after activation.
