SLOW COOKING
Place the Wire Rack or Baking/Broiling Pan into any of the three levels or a
combination of any two levels. Other metal ovenware (bake pans, spring form
pans or cookie sheets, etc.) may be used provided they are oven safe and
permit at least 1/4" (6 mm) space all around the ovenware. Glass ovenware
needs at least 2" (5 cm) of space all around the ovenware. NOTE: Glass
ovenware should never be used on the bottom rack level.
•
Press the Slow Cook function button. The Green Indicator Light
will illuminate.
•
Set the Time by pressing the up and down arrows until the desired time
shows in the Display Window.
•
Choose Celsius or Fahrenheit temperature by pressing and holding in
the SELECT button for 2 seconds. Release the SELECT button when the
appropriate temperature mode F° or C° is shown in the Display Window.
•
Set the Temperature (usually 225°F/100°C) by pressing the up or down
arrows until the desired temperature shows in the Display Window.
•
Press the On/Off button to start the oven. The Oven will turn off and beep
when the time has elapsed. NOTE: The oven can be turned off at any
time during the Slow Cooking cycle by pressing the On/Off Button.
Helpful Hints
Use Slow Cooking to attain very juicy and tender meats. Cook at 225°F/100°C
for 6 – 10 hours in a covered casserole dish. Stir stews or turn meat every
2 hours. Reset the oven for additional 2 hour periods.
