2 SAFETY

2.1 GENERAL

Improper use of the pumps and high pressure systems could cause
serious harm to people and/or damage to things. Therefore,
please follow a few basic rules regarding installation and maintenance.
The people who are going to use these systems must be appropriately
skilled, know the features of the parts used and take all the necessary
precautions to ensure maximum safety under all working conditions.
Some fundamental rules:
ATTENTION: All the instructions for use and maintenance given in this
manual must be strictly followed.
ATTENTION: Use the machine only and exclusively in the presence of
expert people or who have been trained for its use.
ATTENTION: All maintenance work must be carried out by specialized or
expert people.
ATTENTION: Make sure the place of installation is electrically insulated
prior to carrying out any repairs or maintenance job.
ATTENTION: Do not wear clothes that could create dangerous situations
(necklaces, bracelets, frayed clothes).
ATTENTION: We recommend using personal protective gear such as
gloves, overalls, etc.
ATTENTION: The machine must only be used with the safety and
protective devices mounted and in proper working order.
ATTENTION: Do not let adolescents use the machine.

2.2 SAFETY DEVICES IN HIGH PRESSURE SYSTEMS

A safety valve must always be installed on the pressure line;
The system's high pressure electrical parts must be adequately
protected against sprays of water and be suitable for working in damp
environments;
The components of the high pressure system must be adequately
protected;
The high pressure connections must be correctly dimensioned for the
system's maximum working pressure and always used within the range
of values indicated by the manufacturer. The same applies to all the
other high pressure line accessories;
The casings to protect the pump transmission systems (auxiliary power
take-offs, joints, pulleys and belts) must be of a suitable size.

2.3 SAFETY WHEN USING

The area of use of a high pressure system must be indicated and
entry forbidden to unauthorised persons; this area could even be
cordoned off. The persons authorised to enter such an area must know
exactly how to behave when inside it and must also be fully aware of the
risks deriving from defects or malfunctions of a high pressure system.
Before starting the system it is advisable to check the following:
Level of the system's liquids (pump and motor oil, coolant)
Cleanliness of the pump's intake filters
That it is fed correctly
The good condition of pipes and connections, there must be no signs
of wear
That the electrical parts are in good condition and protected to
standards
That all the protections envisaged are active.
