7. Press the keypad calibration axis I button.
Press the keypad rise or lower calibration
beam buttons to raise or lower the laser
beam. Ensure that the beam is exactly
halfway between A and B.
8. Mark this calibrated point on the vertical
surface, as C.
9. Rotate the tool back 180° (same position
as step 4). Locate the laser beam on the
same vertical wall. It should coincide with
C. Repeat this step until the beam is at the
height of C.
10. Place the tool with the side marked II
toward the wall. Position the unit such that
Line II is square (90°) to the wall. Mark the
laser beam height on the vertical surface,
as D.
11. Compare the height of C with D. If the
heights match, calibration is complete.
Proceed to step 13. If the heights do not
match, proceed to step 12.
12. Press the calibration axis II button. Press
the keypad raise or lower calibration beam
buttons to raise or lower the laser beam
until it matches the height of C. Calibration
is complete.

13. Simultaneously press the keypad
calibration axis I and II buttons. Hold for
three to five seconds, then release when
you hear two beeps, signalling the exit of
calibration mode.
14. Turn off the tool, then turn it back on again
to resume normal operation.

Vertical Accuracy
The ambient temperature and humidity has
the greatest influence on the accuracy of a
laser tool. Apart from exterior influences,
device-specific influences (such as heavy
impact or falling down) can lead to deviations.
Therefore, the vertical accuracy should be
checked if the tool has undergone large
sudden temperature variation or has suffered
any kind of hard impact.
For best result, mark a measuring distance of
at least 50ft (15m) on firm surfaces in front of
two walls is required for the accuracy check. A
sturdy tripod capable of height adjustment is
also needed.
1. Place the GRL145HV on the tripod
next to wall A aligning the tripod directly
over one end of the marked 50 ft space .
Make the top beam point horizontally to
wall A.
2. Turn on the tool and allow it to find the
plumb position automatically. Mark the
position of the laser dot on wall A as I.

3. Turn off the tool and rotate it 180 degrees.
Turn on the tool and allow it to find the
plumb position automatically. Mark the
position of the laser dot on the far wall B
as X.

4. Re-position the GRL145HV to the other
end of the 50ft mark next to wall B. Turn
on the tool and allow it to find the plumb
position automatically. Adjust the height of
the tool or re-position it laterally if
necessary until the top laser dot is aligned
with mark X. Switch off the tool and turn it
on again in auto plumb mode and the top
laser dot should still be on the same
horizontal level of X.
