Important: Please read before using the unit
-
Broncolor HMI 575/1200 lights are intended exclusively for the illumination of scenes
for photographic or video purposes.
-
The UV radiation content of an HMI light is comparable to that of sunlight. To protect
the eyes and skin, precautions similar to those necessary for working in sunlight
must be taken. At distances less than 20 meters, radiation intensity can be greater
than daylight, depending on focusing; in such cases avoid direct exposure of skin.
-
Because of its high intensity, avoid looking directly at the light source.
-
Do not operate the light source without an intact protecting glass or lens.
-
For thermal safety, fabric reflectors must be used only with the SWFL lens. (Only
HMI 1200.)
-
Strong heat radiation is present just in front of the light opening. Attention: This
presents a potential flammable hazard.
-
The reflector part of the lamp reaches very high temperatures during operation. Take
care when operating.
-
Do not block the circulation of cooling air through the lamp or ballast unit.
-
Do not point the light at nearby flammable surfaces.
-
Protect both the lamp and the ballast unit from water splashes and drips. Do not
operate with wet hands. This equipment is not suitable for use in a damp
environment or where there is is a risk of explosion.
-
To prevent any unnecessary shortening of the HMI element's service life, the lamp
should never be shut off during its warm-up phase (approximately 3 minutes) except
in an emergency.
-
The lamp must be connected to an earthed power source. To check the earth
connection, a green indicator lamp is provided on the front panel; this lights up when
earthing is properly connected.
-
This equipment must be operated only by trained and competent operators; repairs
must be performed by trained personnel.
-
Do not leave the lamp operating unattended.
