During this operation it is advisable to:
•
avoid working too close to the ground to prevent
damage to the cutting parts.
During cutting operations sharpen the chain regularly.
•
You will work with greater efficiency
•
You will cause less stress to the cutting parts and
transmission of the chain saw.
MAINTENANCE AND STORING
During assembly, disassembly and when sharpening the
cutting chain, always wear thick protective gloves.
Perform ordinary maintenance operations regularly.
Regular maintenance is essential both to guarantee
safety and the level of performance of the chain saw.
For special maintenance contact an authorized service
centre.
Use and request only original spare parts, to comply with
the design of the saw.
Insist on the Safety of Original Spare Parts.
When not in use To keep the saw efficient at all times,
follow these simple instructions:
•
empty any remaining fuel from the tank. The unleaded
fuels currently in use age rapidly and are very quickly
unsuitable for use.
•
Clean any wood, sawdust and resin from the saw.
Check that the air filter, cooling ducts and cylinder
fins are clean.
•
Store the saw in a suitable place; avoid places that
are damp, extremely dry or near sources of heat.
•
Store the chain saw out of children's reach!!
Respect the environment!!!
Do not throw fuel or lubricants on the ground or
down drains!! Contact a service station for correct
recycling of lubricants and fuels.
Chainsaw preparation
Guide bar and chain assembly
The chainsaws are supplied with specific standard bars
and chains to be assembled and with empty fuel tanks.
The machine assembly is not difficult. However, pay
attention to the correct assembly of the cutting tools.
WARNING If you are not sure that you have carried
out the operations properly, please refer to your
retailer.
•
make sure that the front hand guard (that controls
the chain brake) is not engaged. Check by pulling the
hand guard backwards towards the machine body
until you hear a click.
•
(fig. 1) unscrew the nuts fastening the chain/clutch
housing and take it out. Now the chain bar is visible
and you can have access to the clutch/sprocket unit
for chain driving.
Precautions. During the next operations wear
protection gloves. Work safely.
•
(fig. 2) Insert the guide bar (A) into the stud bolts (bar

bolts) and push it towards the clutch/sprocket unit.
•
(fig. 3) Fit the chain into the driving sprocket. During
this operation, pay special attention to the chain
assembly direction. The chain has been designed
to run and cut in only one direction. The cutter links
shall always look forward (towards the bar nose). Put
the chain on the guide bar and make sure that the
driving links are lying properly between the driving
sprocket teeth and those of the sprocket located on
the bar nose.
•
(fig. 4) Make sure that the chain pin (B) has been
properly fitted in the special hole in the bar. If these
2 items do not coincide, adjust the chain screw (C)
that is located in the front part of the chainsaw next
to the bar seat with a flat-tip screwdriver (fig. 5) When
adjusting this screw, you move the chain pin.
•
Put the chain/clutch housing back to its place and
insert the two fastening nuts. Screw the nuts in by
hand without tightening them too much.
•
Stretch the chain properly by adjusting the chain
screw again (fig. 5). Remember that turning the
chain screw clockwise, the chain is gradually put
under tension. The chain is properly stretched if,
when raising the chainsaw upwards holding it from
the chain in the middle of the guide bar, the driving
links do not come out of their rails.
When the chain has been properly put under tension,
fasten the nuts by means of the supplied spanner.
During this operation, keep the guide bar looking
upwards (fig. 6).
•
After fastening the nuts, check by means of a
screwdriver that the chain moves without great effort
when pushed on the teeth.
WARNING If the chain tension pin has not been properly
fitted into its seat in the guide bar, you can severely
damage the pin when tightening the fastening nuts.
•
The chain normally lengthens because of the use.
Put it again under tension by loosening the nuts on
the chain housing and adjusting the chain tension
screw. Then tighten the nuts again.

Fuel
This machine is equipped with a two-stroke motor and
it is therefore necessary to use a mixture of petrol and
lubricant oil for two-stroke motors.
WARNING Use only quality fuel and lubricants to
keep the motor performances and guarantee the
duration of the mechanic parts.
Use unleaded petrol.
Motor oil
Use only synthetic top-quality oil for two-stroke motors.
Your retailer has top-quality oils that have been especially
conceived to guarantee high protection to the mechanic
parts, thus leading to long-duration motor efficiency. Ask
your retailer.
