Funnel set for volume flow measurement
Application information
The funnel set consists of a funnel for measurements at plate outlets (200 x 200mm) and a funnel
for measurements at ventilation outlets (330 x 330mm) in combination with:
· testo 417
· testo 445 / testo 400 / 100mm vane probe 0635 9340
· testo 435 as of Firmware 2.06 (instruments as of construction year 2007) or 1.14 (instruments up
to construction year 2006) / 100mm vane probe 0635 9435
· testo 480 / 100mm vane probe 0635 9343
A measurement is possible at sucking as well as at blowing ventilation units.
Application
 Making the instrument settings for volume flow calculation:

 testo 417 (up to Firmware 1.05): Set an area of 0.0069m
 testo 417 (as of Firmware 1.06): Activate Fact (on) in the configuration menu.
 testo 445 / testo 400: Enter a diameter of 9.6cm or 3.8in for the measurement channel Vol.
 testo 435: Activate the setting Funnel in the configuration menu under Parameter > Area.
 testo 480: At the measuring point enter "1.00" for the parameter flow rate correction factor and
"round" with a diameter of "8.5 cm" for the parameter channel geometry.
 Carrying out measurement:
Damage to the instrument or the probe!
 Always hold the measuring system by the handgrip of the funnel, not by the
instrument or the probe.
1 Place the measurement funnel over the ventilation unit so that the rubber ring fits tightly.
2 Read the measurement data.

 Using the instrument/vane probe:
The locking switch in the upper part of the handgrip is opened:

1 Insert the measuring instrument or the vane probe into the mounting,
instrument / probe rear side (= side with type label) facing down.
2 Close the locking switch: press the switch until OPEN is no longer visible.
