CARE & MAINTENANCE
Your detector does not require a lot of care, but there are a few things you
should do to keep it in operating condition.
1.
If you are not going to use the detector for a while, take the batteries out.
2.
Avoid extreme temperatures such as inside a closed car sitting in the sun
or extreme cold weather.
3.
If you scrape the search coil on the ground, you will eventually wear off the
bottom. Coil replacements are expensive, instead, invest in a coil cover
(otherwise known as a skid plate).
4.
Put a rain-resistant cover over the control housing if you are searching in
the rain, fog, or if it is dusty.
5.
Keep your detector dry and clean. Wipe off the lower stem (#12) before
sliding it into the upper stem (#10) and keep the stem lock nut (#11)
threads free from sand and dirt.
6.
Maintain the tool with care. A tool in good condition is efficient, easier to
control and will have fewer problems.
7.
Inspect the tool components periodically. Repair or replace damaged or
worn components. Only use identical replacement parts when servicing.
8.
Keep the tool handles clean, dry and free from oil/grease at all times.
9.
Maintain the tool's labels and name plates. These carry important information.
If unreadable or missing, contact Princess Auto Ltd. for replacements.
WARNING! Only qualified service personnel should repair the tool. An
improperly repaired tool may present a hazard to the user and/or others.
DISPOSAL
Recycle a tool damaged beyond repair at the appropriate facility.
Contact your local municipality for a list of disposal facilities or by-laws for
electronic devices, batteries, oil or other toxic liquids.
