2. INSTALLATION

Instructions which must be followed by the drive and home automation professional installing the drive.
Never drop, knock, drill or submerge the drive.
Install a separate control point for each drive.

2. 1. 1. Preparing the drive
ALTUS RS 50 io: Check that the interior diameter of the
tube is 47 mm or greater.
ALTUS RS 60 io: Check that the interior diameter of the
tube is 60 mm or greater.
Fit the accessories required to integrate the drive into the

roller tube:
Either only wheel

Or ring and wheel

Measure length (L1) between the inner edge of the drive

head and the rim of the drive wheel.

2. 1. 2. Tube preparation

Cut the roller tube to the desired length depending on the

product to be motorised.
Deburr the roller tube and remove the swarf.

For roller tubes that are smooth inside, cut a notch according

to the following dimensions:

2. 1. 3. Drive/tube assembly
Slide the drive into the roller tube. For roller tubes which are

smooth inside, position the notch previously cut on the boss
on the crown wheel.
The drive wheel must be locked in place to prevent

translational movement along the roller tube:
This can be done either by attaching the roller tube to the
•
drive wheel using 4 x Ø 5 mm self-tapping screws, or by
using 4 x Ø 4.8 mm steel pop rivets positioned 5 mm to 15
mm from the outer rim of the drive wheel, regardless of
the roller tube.
The screws or pop rivets must only be fastened onto the wheel and not on the drive.
Alternatively, a drive wheel stop can be used for tubes which are not smooth.

2. 1. 4. Installing the drive/tube assembly
Secure the tube end piece onto the roller tube.
Install and fix the tube/drive assembly onto end bracket

onto Torx screw drive bracket
Ensure that the drive/tube assembly is secured onto the end
bracket. This operation prevents the tube/drive assembly
from coming out of the end bracket attachment.
Depending on the type of bracket, fit retaining ring

position.
