4.7- Extension cord
Use only an extension cord that is labelled for outdoor
use.
Use an extension cord of the right dimensions to carry
the power required by the machine. A cord whose
capacity is too low will cause a loss of voltage at the
machine.
Keep the extension cord clear of the cutting area.
Make sure that the cord does not get caught on anything during cutting. Check the extension cord
frequently. Replace a cord that is cut or damaged.
The extension cord can become detached from the machine cable during use.
To avoid this, use the cord support (part 3 see Fig. 8)
Form a loop with the extension cord, and hook it over the cable holder (3).
4.8- Before starting the machine - Connection
- This tool may only be connected to single-phase 230V AC source.
Ensure that the voltage of the mains power supply matches the operating voltage indicated on the tool's
rating plate.
- Connect the power plug to the coupling of an appropriate extension cord.
- Form a loop with the extension cord, and hook it over the cable holder (3).
4.9- Starting the machine
- Switching on:
press the trigger switch (4).
PRW254A / 515676:
press the lock off button (5) and then the trigger switch (4).
PRW503A /515686:
- Switching off: release the trigger switch (4).
Warning! The cutting means (eg: nylon lines) continue to rotate for a few seconds after the tool is
switched off.
Wait until the cutting means come to a complete standstill before placing the machine down.
Caution! Do not touch the moving cutting means (i.e. nylon lines).
V. OPERATION
5.1- Intended use
- The product is intended for outdoor domestic use in private gardens.
- The tool is only suitable for cutting grass, lawns; maintain edges or flower beds within the limits of its
characteristics.
- This lawn trimmer is designed to maintain existing edges. It should not be used to create edges.
- Do not use the machine for applications not described in this manual.
- Do not use the machine for unsuitable purposes (for ex. for cutting wood ...)
- The tool is not intended for artisanal, commercial, professional and/or industrial use (for ex.: in public
parks...).
5.2- Operation
Before any operation:
-- always visually inspect that the product does not show signs of use or damage
-- check that the screws, bolts and nuts are well tightened.
-- Replace any used or damaged part, and tighten firmly the screws, bolts and nuts when needed.
