OPERATION

PREPARING THE UNIT

Unpacking and completing the assembly should
be done on a flat and stable surface, with enough
space for moving the machine and its packaging,
always making use of suitable equipment.
WARNING
Always unplug your machine from power source be-
fore any adjustment.
To assemble the machine:
Transport wheels
To install the wheels:
1. Insert the bolt (Fig. 3.1) through the wheel (Fig.
3.2).
2. Insert the wheel and bolt assembly through the
whole of the wheel bracket (Fig. 3.3).
3. Insert the washer (Fig. 3.4) and then screw in
the nut (Fig. 3.5) by hand on the bolt from the
rear side of the bracket.
4. Secure the wheel assembly in place by tighten-
ing the nut.
Repeat the above for both wheels.
Lubrication
WARNING
The machine is delivered without oil. Before starting
this machine, the compressor must be filled with oil
and the oil breather cap must be placed in position.
Oil specifications: For general use (5°C - 38°C) the
recommended oil is SAE 30 non detergent oil.
To fill the compressor with oil:
1. Place the machine on level ground.
2. Remove the oil filler cap (Fig. 4.1) from the com-
pressor oil filler neck (Fig. 4.2).
3. Gradually add enough oil to bring the oil level
until to the red dot mark on the oil sight glass
(Fig. 4.4).
4. Insert the oil breather cap (Fig. 4.3) in the oil
filler neck and tighten appropriately.
WARNING
Use a funnel in order to avoid spilling oil and wipe off
any spilled oil before starting the machine.
Air filter
Place the air filter (Fig. 5.2) in position on the com-
pressor cylinder head (Fig. 5.1) and carefully tight-
en it securely with the bolts.

Placement
Place the compressor in a clean, dry and well-ven-
tilated area and on stable and level surface. The
compressor should be located at least half a me-
ter away from walls or any other object which
would interfere with airflow. Keep all of spare
parts which collect dust or dirt clean. A clean com-
pressor runs cooler and provides longer service.
Do not place rag, containers or other materials on
top of the compressor.
Single-phase motor
The installed electric motor is completely wired
ready for operation. The customer's connection
to the power supply system, and any extension
cables that may be used, must conform with local
regulations. Check electrical connection cables
regularly for damage. Make sure the cable is dis-
connected from the mains when checking. The
mains voltage must coincide with the voltage
specified on the motor's rating plate. The con-
nection to the mains must be protected with an
appropriate slow acting fuse and only a socket
with the properly installed ground contact must
be used.
Quick release coupler
The quick release coupler allows for quick connec-
tion or disconnection of a high pressure hose on
the air compressor outlet (Fig. 1.5). You can as-
semble any hose with a respective type end on the
air compressor by simply pushing the end of the
hose on the quick release coupler until they lock
together. To disassemble push the quick release
coupler ring in and it will unlock the connection to
the hose coupler.
WARNING
Carefully disassemble any attached hose as high
pressure air escaping the tank and the force applied
to the hose could damage the equipment or cause
injury.
Tank drain valve
The tank drain valve can be opened to allow the
compressed air to be released from the tank of
the air compressor.
WARNING
Carefully open the valve as high pressure air escap-
ing the tank could damage the equipment or cause
injury.
Safety Valve
The Safety Valve automatically relieves pressure
from the tank in the event of excessive pressure
build up. The safety valve is preset at factory. Pe-
riodically pull the ring on the safety valve end to
check that it is working properly. If any abnormali-
ty is noticed concerning the operation of the safe-
ty valve, take the machine to your local authorized
service center to be adjusted.
