The symbol might appear only during measurement although you can review readings in memory. This is because more battery power is required for conducting
a measurement, e.g. inflating the cuff, than displaying the readings in memory. Please have the batteries replaced.
The enclosed batteries are for monitoring, and their life may be shorter than that of commercial batteries.

SIT ON A CHAIR AND APPLY CUFF.
Find a chair and a table so that you can be comfortably seated with your feet flat
on the floor and your back and arm supported.
Remove watch or bracelet.
Put the cuff on your left wrist directly on
the skin with the display screen on the
side of your palm.
The monitor should be placed at the
center of your wrist with the top of the
monitor positioned 5 to 10 mm from the
bottom of your palm.

Fasten the cuff and press the surface of the cuff to
make sure the hook and loop attaches securely.
The cuff should fit snugly and there should be no
space between the cuff and your wrist.
Take care that your clothing is not caught beneath
the cuff.
You may use your right wrist for measurement. However, make sure to use same
wrist for measurement; the blood pressure on left wrist and right wrist may not
be the same.
