controlled by microprocessor, achieves an
exceptional thermal recovery, which enables
soldering at temperatures by far lower than
ever seen before and invreasing the station
efficiency by 40%.
SLEEP SYSTEM
Tool in sleep mode
As son as the soldering iron is left on the
stand, the tip's temperature automatically
drops to the sleep temperature. This is
p o s s i b l e b e c a u s e o f i t s e x t r e m e l y f a s t
thermal response, which allows to reach the
working temperature from the sleep one
without interruption. The oxidation rates on
the tin coating of the tip are drastically
reduced, which increases the tip's lifespan
from 2 to 3 times.
The sleep mode parameters can be modified
through the station setup program.
In order to take advantage of the sleep
m o d e a n d a s s a f e t y m e a s u r e , i t i s
necessary to put the tool in the stand
when it is not used.
The tip lifespan is directly related to the
temperature and time. Long periods at
higher temperature reduce the life of the
tip exponentially.
Due to this, it is advisable to keep the
soldering iron in the support at sleep
temperature (200ºC approximately) to
increase the tip life.
Hibernation mode
The system is working whitout heating up the
tools connected. It is a status of minimal
consumption but as soon as a tool is picked
up, it is ready to solder.
In order to enter the hibernation mode the
sleep mode must be operative. The delay time
to hibernate starts from the activation of the
sleep mode.
The paramethers of the hibernation function can
be modified with the station setup program.
If you would like to change the default setup
configuration, see page 27.

Maintenance
When soldering, flux from the solder is condensed
on the metal ring on the handpiece. These residues
are insulating and create false contacts when the
handpiece is on the stand, therefore the sleep
and hibernation features may malfunction.
We recomend the periodic cleaning with a
solvent the metal ring and handpiece support.
The handpiece has a life period and it is normal
that due to wear it might be necessary to
replace it.
Advanced series cartridge
The cartridge is made of the heating element
which has the heating system, a temperature
sensor and a long life tip.
The long-life tip is basically made of:
1 Copper
2 Iron
3 Chromium
4 Tin plate
Tip care recommendations
Except for the copper core, the rest of metals
are placed galvanically on relatively thin layers,
therefore it is necessary to avoid anything which
could cause their destruction.
To clean the tips, use the sponge included with
the stand and check that it is slightly moisted.

normal water was to be used, it is very likely
that the tip will become dirty due to the salts
dissolved within the water.
To re-tin the soldering tips, we recommend
using the TT 9900 tip tinner/cleaner ref. 9900000.
