10 Faults, causes and remedies
Have faults remedied only by qualified personnel!
Observe the safety instructions in chapter 9!
Fault
The system is noisy.
Pump is noisy.
The pump power is
too low.

Cause
Air in the system
The flow rate at the pump
is too high.
The pump delivery head is
too high.
Cavitation due to insuffi-
cient supply pressure
Foreign bodies in the
pump housing or impeller.
Air within the pump.
The check valves in the
system are not fully open.
Foreign bodies in the
pump housing or impeller.
Incorrect flow direction.
The check valves in the
system are not fully open.
Incorrect direction of
rotation
(only for 3~) terminal box type 4b and 4c:
Indicator light off
(only for 1~) terminal boxes type 4a and 4d:
Indicator light off
Remedy
Bleed the system.
Reduce the pump power by
switching to a lower speed.
Reduce the pump power by
switching to a lower speed.
Check pressure stability/supply
pressure and if necessary increase
them within the permissible range.
After deinstallation of the motor
impeller unit, remove the foreign
body.
Bleed the pump/system.
Fully open the check valves.
After deinstallation of the motor
impeller unit, remove the foreign
body.
Interchange the pressure side and
suction side of the pump. Refer to
the direction arrow on the pump
housing or pump flange.
Fully open the check valves.
Correct the electrical connections
in the terminal box:
Refer to the direction of rotation
arrow on the name plate
Interchange two phases at the
mains supply terminals.
Correct the connection of the
capacitor.
