REMOVING THE RESPIRATOR

Before removing your respirator you must go to an area with uncontaminated air. Failure to
follow this instruction will result in the risk of serious illness, injury or death.
1)
For either head strap or headnet configuration, loosen the two lower straps completely.
2)
Grasp the respirator firmly (see Figure 17), and pull the facepiece upward over the head.

CLEANING FACEPIECE
During breaks and between a more thorough cleaning, a refresher wipe pad may be used to clean the portion of the
mask that comes in contact with your face. For a thorough cleaning:
1)
Remove the respirator's components, inspecting all components for any wear or damage. Refer to Section 8.0
"RESPIRATOR INSPECTION".
a)
Unthread the cartridges or filters. Dispose or store them per the instructions in the section 7.0 "STORAGE".
b)
If used, pull out the spectacle insert.
c)
Remove the nose cup by gently pulling it away from the nozzle.
d)
Pull out the inhalation valves and seats in the nose cup.
e)
Remove the nozzle cover by pinching the two lower latches while lifting the lower tab. Disengage the upper
hook by lifting the cover upward.
f)
Remove the nozzle plug by using a quarter or similar item in the molded slot and rotate the nozzle plug
counterclockwise.
g)
Remove the nozzle gasket and inhalation valve from the nozzle port.
h)
Remove the nozzle by grasping the outside of the lens with both hands so that both thumbs can push the latches
inward and downward.
i)
Remove the o-ring from the nozzle.
j)
Pull out the exhalation valve from the exhalation valve seat of the nozzle.
