If the appliance, the mains lead or the
mains plug is defective or if the appli-
ance shows any other signs of damage
or is not functioning, it must not be put
into service.

the appliance from the mains before the
storm starts.
If the appliance is not to be used for an
extended period, e.g. before going away
on holiday, unplug it from the mains.
If the glass-ceramic surface breaks or
cracks, switch off the appliance to pre-
vent electric shock.
