Wiring Examples
Standard digital inputs and outputs
NOTE
The cables must not be longer than 30 m.
See fig. 4
Example: Two digital inputs (switches) and two digital outputs connection.
NOTE
Pin 1 of CN5, CN6, CN7 and CN8 is locally connected to the I/O supply (CN4, Pin
7 and 8, 24 VDC in) and can be used in order to simplify external connecting
of sensors (for example, external switches could be supplied from these pins,
instead from main supply).
NOTE
Pin 10 of CN5, CN6, CN7 and CN8 is locally connected to to the I/O supply (CN4,
Pin 9 and 10, GND in) and can be used in order to simplify external connecting
of actuators (external loads can be conntect to GND using these pins, instead of
using the main supply).
Encoder connection
See fig. 5
Example: Logic connection of two encoder modules. The encoder modules must
be 24 VDC powered (connect GND-potential reference of the encoder to the
GND-potential of TX-IO-XX03 digital I/O supply).
Counter or frequency inputs
See fig. 6
Example: Logic connection for two counter/frequency measurement.
Connection is suitable for counter inputs (pulse and gate) and/or frequency
inputs (frequency and gate).
The external modules must be 24 VDC powered (connect the GND-potential of
the external module to the GND-potential of TX-IO-XX03 digital I/O supply).
Voltage inputs, single ended, differential or current inputs
See fig. 7
Example:
Logic connection for various configurations:
■
Two single ended analog inputs on the same channel (for example used
CH_2+ , CH_2- and COM-AGND).
■
One differential voltage source, connected as differential channel at CH_4+
CH_4- pair.
■
One current input connected to CH_3+ CH_3- pair
Pt100,thermocouple, and analog outputs
See fig. 8
Example: Logic connection for various configurations:
■
One Pt100 (three wire) connected to CH2.
■
One Pt100 (four wire) connected to CH4.
■
One thermocouple, connected to CH3.
■
One Pt100 connected to CH5 and used for thermocouple input compensa-
tion.
■
One analog output (CH4)
