Replacing the Saw Blade
Before any work on the machine itself, pull
the mains plug.
Wear protective gloves.
The saw blades used must conform with the
characteristic data given in these operating
instructions.
Removal:
Press the spindle locking button 9.
The spindle locking button 9 may be pressed
only when the saw blade is at a standstill.
Swing back and hold the swinging protective
guard 16. Unscrew the clamping screw 21 with the
Allen key 8.
Remove the clamping flange 20 and the saw blade.
Assembly:
Clean the motor spindle, saw blade and all clamping
parts to be mounted. Mount the clamping screw 21
with washer and the clamping flange 20. Tighten
with the Allen key 8.
Pay attention to the correct mounting posi-
tion of the mounting flange 17 and the
clamping flange 20.
Observe when assembling: The cutting di-
rection of the teeth (direction of arrow on the
saw blade) and the direction of rotation ar-
row on the protective guard must agree.

Dust Extraction
The dust that is produced while
working is detrimental to health.
Use dust extraction and wear a
dust mask.
Dust extraction prevents large ac-
cumulations of dust, high concen-
trations of dust in the ambient air
and facilitates disposal.
External dust extraction
Insert the vacuum hose (35 mm dia. hose system)
firmly into the chip ejector 11.
For example, the machine can be connected direct-
ly to the socket of a Bosch general purpose vacuum
cleaner with remote switching automatic. The vacu-
um cleaner is switched on automatically when the
machine is switched on.
The vacuum cleaner must be suitable for the materi-
al to be worked. For vacuuming of dry dust that is
especially detrimental to health or carcinogenic, use
a special vacuum cleaner. Suitable vacuum clean-
ers are available from Bosch for all such materials.
For long periods of working with wood or for com-
mercial use on materials that produce dust that is
detrimental to health, the machine is to be connect-
ed to a suitable external dust extraction device.
Self-extraction of Saw Dust
Use the dust bag 26 (optional extra) for small jobs.
Insert the dust bag attachment piece into the saw
dust ejector 11. Empty the dust bag at regular inter-
vals so that the dust extraction remains effective.
Operating Instructions
The sawing performance and the quality of the cut
depend essentially on the condition and tooth form
of the saw blade. Therefore, use only sharp saw
blades that are suitable for the material to be
18
worked.
17
Wood
The right selection of a saw blade depends on the
type and quality of the wood as well as whether
cross or lenghtwise cutting is required.
Beech and oak dust is especially detrimental to
health and should be worked only with dust extrac-
tion.
Plastic
Apply the machine running against the workpiece
and carefully start sawing. Then saw steadily and
without interruption so that the saw teeth have less
chance of sticking.
Wear protective glasses, hearing
protection and a dust protection
mask.
Feeding too fast significantly reduces the
performance of the machine and shortens
the life of the saw blade.
When cutting plastic, especially PVC, long,
spiral shaped shavings are produced that
can be electrostatically charged.
This can cause the ejector 11 to become
clogged
and
the
swinging
guard 16 to stick. The use of a vacuum
cleaner for dust extraction is recommended.
