Tip: secure the machine to an even, solid concrete wall. Drill through the concrete wall and screw suitable steel counter
plates or large washers onto the other side of the wall using threaded rods onto the machine's base frame
Caution:
with pillar mounting especially, take care to ensure that the base frame does not twist (possibly as a result of too much
tension on the screws)
Mounting height: see Fig. 2
The upper edge of the vertical brush should be located around 15 cm below the average withers height of the herd in
order to allow both the smaller and the larger animals to use the machine easily.
Worked example: average withers height = 140 cm – > upper edge of the vertical brush = approx. 125 cm
This gives a height of the lower two holes on the frame of 63 cm.
Figure 2: Mounting height
If there are considerable differences in withers height among the herd (i.e. more than 20 cm), the machine should be
mounted slightly higher in order to avoid excessive brush wear.
Occupational safety during mounting:
• the machine must always be secured against falling or toppling over while being installed - risk of fatal injury!!!
– > place a retaining strap around the gears and secure with a lifting device
• the cow cleaning station is supplied as standard with 2 transport safety screws so that the carriage is unable to move
as a result of the tensed springs.
The safety screws should only be removed once the machine has been mounted securely to the wall.
• during installation and especially before commissioning, never reach inside the machine (behind the safety panels).
