on firm ground away from flooding and out of reach of
animals and children (inside a protective fence, if required).
The solar panel should face true north in the southern hemisphere
and true south in the northern hemisphere.
Mounting the energizer
The energizer can be mounted directly
onto a steel Y-post or T-post using the
post-mounting slot. To mount onto a
wooden post, use the hardware provided.
Thread washers onto the nails. Space the
nails 75 mm (3") apart (or one nail
length). Hammer in the nails, allowing
them to protrude by 10 mm (3/8"). Slide
the energizer onto the nails with the
washers inside the post-mounting slot.
Connecting to an electric fence
1
Push a 1 m (3'3") earth rod fully into firm ground.
2
Connect the black lead from the Fence earth terminal
energizer to the earthing system.
3
Connect the red lead from the Fence output terminal
energizer to the fence. Make sure there is a good contact.
Caution! Make sure the connecting leads drop downwards from the
energizer to prevent water from collecting at the terminals.

Battery symbol
The battery symbol indicates the battery is running low.
When the battery symbol is displayed, this indicates the battery is
around ¾ charge.
When the battery symbol is flashing, this indicates the battery is
around ½ charge.
Power-save
If there is insufficient sunlight to maintain battery charge, the
energizer will override the pulse speed and power level settings. This
reduces battery power consumption, ensuring a continuous supply
of power to the fence.
If the energizer is set to fast pulse
drops to about ¾, the energizer will automatically switch to slow
pulse
. If the energizer is set to full power
charge drops to about ½, the energizer will automatically switch to
half power
. The arrows on the display flash to indicate when
settings have been overridden.
The energizer will continue to operate until the battery is almost
completely discharged, then the energizer will turn itself off.
Security (0.25 J model only)
The energizer can be security locked to deter thieves. When the
energizer is security locked, it cannot be unlocked without the
correct security code being entered. It is important to choose a
security code that you can remember.
