How to iron hung clothing: Hang the item of clothing on a clothes hanger, making
o
sure that it hangs freely (no wall or the like behind it). Use one hand to hold the
part you are going to iron so that the garment cannot swing back and forth. The
soleplate must make complete contact with the material. Now press the steam but-
ton until the garment is wrinkle-free.
• AFTER IRONING
COMPLETELY EMPTY the water tank after EACH use!

To avoid limescale build up, empty the boiler after each use. Prior to emptying the
o
appliance, turn it off and pull the power plug out of the socket.
Set the switch (7) to "0."
o
Pull the power plug out of the socket.
o
Press the steam button (4) to release the pressure.
o
Caution! Let the iron cool down (approx. 2 hrs).
o
Unscrew the safety cap (1) using the cap screw (3), turn the iron upside down to
o
empty the water remaining in the boiler (Fig. E). Proceed carefully, because the wa-
ter is boiling hot. This simple procedure will likewise help to keep the inside of the
boiler clean
When you have finished ironing, never completely tighten the safety cap (1), but ra-
o
ther close it with 3-4 turns.
Turn the steam regulator (2) counter-clockwise as far as it will go.

• CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
Caution! Before you clean your iron, pull the power plug out of the socket and let
o
the iron cool down.
Never immerse the appliance in water or other liquids. Regularly check the power
o
cord for damage before using your iron. Should you detect any damage, take it to
your nearest customer service and have it replaced by a qualified specialist.
• CLEANING THE SOLEPLATE
Deposits and other fabric residues can be removed from the soleplate using a cloth
o
moistened in a water and vinegar solution. Use a dry cloth to wipe the soleplate
dry.
Do not use a scouring agent to clean the soleplate. Ensure that the soleplate re-
o
mains smooth: avoid contact with metal objects.
