Setting up / priming the brewer

CAUTION:
1. Before setting up the appli-
ance read all safety instruc-
tions on page 4-11.
WARNING:
Each time the appliance has
been subjected to cold tem-
peratures or frost, wait at least three
hours before switching on. Let the ap-
pliance warm up to room temperature
first - malfunction hazard.
Remove the water tank and clean it

with water, dish soap and a mild cloth.
Fill it up with fresh drinking water and

return it to the brewer.

Plug in the appliance and press the le-

ver down to closed position. Then place a
heat-safe cup under the spout.

WARNING:
Before plugging in the appli-
ance ensure that the power
source voltage matches to the speci-
fications on the rating place (under-
neath the brewer / 120 V )
Press the on/off button to switch the

appliance on (figure 4a). The appliance
heats up, all buttons will blink (see figure
4b). Blinking stops when the brewer has
heated up. Only the rinsing button will be
illuminated ( see figure 4c).

Now press the rinse button to activate

the rinsing process. Repeat this step four
more times to prime the brewer for its first
use. The rinse button will blink during the
rinsing process, and all the button symbols
will illuminate when it is complete.

WARNING: Very hot water
– scalding hazard.
Empty the heat-safe cup afterwards.

The brewer is primed and ready to use.

NOTE:
Repeat the four time rinsing
process also any time the ap-
pliance has run dry and to prime the
brewer after extended periods of time
without use.
The rinse button will illuminate
after the appliance has heated
up each time started up from
cold. Please rinse once.
The brewer is immediately ready for use
once it has been heated up to brewing
temperature when started up from hot.
