1. Remove the sensor from the process (observe the instructions in the installation, operation
and maintenance chapters in the sensor instruction manual).
2. Clean the sensor head with a soft cloth and where appropriate with a mild detergent.
3. Place the sensor onto the holding device. Ensure that the sensor is so adjusted that the arrow
(flow direction of the medium) points upwards.
4. Carefully attach the inspection unit to the sensor head. Align the inspection unit such that the
hollow on the sensor matches with the nipple on the inspection unit.
Important: When attached to the sensor the inspection unit must never be twisted, as this can
easily destroy the turbiglass. Avoid any finger print / dirt / scratches on the turbiglass.
5. Mount a Varivent clamp around the process connection.
6. Fill the injection device with distilled water (or the best ultra-pure water – with zero-FTU turbid-
ity) (a minimum of 90 milliliters, bubble free).
7. Put the injection device into the filler hose. Slowly and carefully fill it with distilled water until
the discharge tube is approximately half filled. Don't extract the injection device from the filler
hose.
8. Close the valve.
9. Connect the sensor and check the measured value on the transmitter. This value should be
recorded on the attached sheet.
Important: This matched measured value enables you to verify the sensor at any point in the
future. Frequency of sensor verification is dependent on your plant standard operating
procedures (SOPs). However, sensor verification is recommended every half-year to
a year, or when necessary.
10. Pull out the injection device and empty the inspection unit by opening the valve.
11. Remove the Varivent clamp from the process connection.
12. Remove the inspection unit carefully without damaging the turbiglass.
13. Carefully clean and dry the inspection unit with a soft cloth. Keep it protected from dirt and
moisture in the case. Store it at room temperature and avoid excessive heat.
Notice:
Verification / calibration should be done according to the appropriate
instruction manuals.
