5.8 FRONT & END CUTTING OPERATION

The machine leaves the factory set to auto-
matically cut the edges on both sides of the
board. It needs no later adjustment.
If for some reason the machine does not co-
rrectly perform the sequence of movements
described below, it must be repaired only by
an authorised service technician.
The front & end trimmer operates in the following manner:
1 The board makes contact with blade A and is pulled by the
end trimmer. When the board activates the lever of valve D,
the excess edge on the front of the board is cut off.
2 When the back of the board releases the lever for valve
D, blade A starts in direction "B" and follows the board in
direction C.
When blade A reaches the board, it cuts off the excess edge
on the rear of the board.
The precision of the cut made by the end trimmer depends on
the perfect synchronism between the transverse and forward
movements.
