3.5.3 Cold-starting
In cold weather, when the engine is hard to start:

Remove the rubber plug (5) of the rocker arm cover and

add 2 cc of engine oil.
Never use any cold-starting aids such as ether,
gasoline, paint thinner or other volatile liquid or
gas.

Keep the rubber plug (5) in the cover.
If the plug is not in place, rain, dirt and other con-
taminants may enter the engine and cause accel-
erated wear of internal parts. This can cause seri-

ous problems. Severe damage to the engine will
occur.

3.5.4 Switching of the engine
STOP

Adjust engine speed control lever (2) to idle position.

Allow the engine to warm up for 2 ... 3 minutes.

STOP

Adjust engine speed control lever (2) to «STOP».
If the engine keeps on running even after the speed le-
ver is placed at the «STOP»-position, stop the engine
either by closing the fuel cock («S»-position) or by

loosening the nut (6) of the high-pressure fuel pipe on
the pump side.

Set the fuel cock lever (1) to the «S»-position (closed).
