when warm will contract as it cools and this
would result in excessive chain tension, the chain
tension must be reduced after you have finished
the sawing work.
IMPORTANT – the tension of the chain (2) must be
checked several times over the course of a working day.
Always wear gloves for this work.
Since the guide bar (1) is subject to particularly
high stress at the return point and at the interface,
we recommend that the guide bar be turned
each time you sharpen the chain so as to avoid it
wearing on one side.
Fuel (B12)
Use only a mixture of unleaded regular petrol
and special 2-stroke engine oil in a mixing ratio
of 40:1.
Important: Do not use a different mixing ration
and do not use pure petrol.
Do not use fuel if it is more than 2-3 months old.
If you do not intend to use the machine for a
lengthy period, empty the tank and refill it before
you start work again.
Mix petrol in a ratio of 40:1
- Add 4.0 litres of petrol to 100 ml of 2-stroke oil
in a fuel tank and mix the two components by
shaking the machine forcefully.
Fill the petrol tank
- Unscrew the petrol tank cover (13) slowly so
that the pressure and petrol vapours can escape
safely.
- Fill the tank with the 40:1 2-stroke mixture using
a funnel and screw the petrol tank cover (13) back
into place.
Chain lubrication (B13-B15)
The chainsaw is supplied without oil.
Unscrew the oil tank cover (12). Fill the oil tank
with biologically degradable chain oil.
Never use recycled oil or used oil.
Ensure that no dirt gets into the oil tank.
The chainsaw must never be operated without
oil.
If the chainsaw is operated without oil, the entire
saw will suffer damage within a very short period
of time.
Check the oil level and the chain lubrication
system before every starting work.
Check the automatic function of the chain lubrication
system by holding the running saw with the tip of the
bar against a sheet of paper on the ground. Keep a safe
distance! If an increasing oil mark can be seen on the
paper, the automatic
lubrication system is working correctly when the saw
chain is running.
Always ensure that the oil discharge duct (20) is
free of dirt at all times. If necessary clean it with
a thin object (such as a toothpick or matchstick).
Caution:
Do not try to adjust the oil flow of the oil pump. Because
it has been adjusted in the optimal position before it left
the factory.
Engine / Chain brake (B16)
This chainsaw is fitted with an engine/chain brake
for your safety.
If the saw suffers recoil, the front hand guard (4)
will strike against your hand and trip the chain
brake. To restart the saw, pull the hand guard
forcefully backwards towards the front handle.
The chain will stop after a maximum of 0.1
second.
Carry out a function test from time to time
To do this, push the hand guard (4) forwards and
switch on the saw briefly. The chain must not
start to move. Release the guard. Pull the hand
