Operation
Start J K O P
• On a flat surface, if possible not in high grass.
Cold start
1. Firmly press the primer on the motor (O, P) three times.
2. Raise and hold the safety bracket (J, 1).
3. Pull starter grip (K) and return it slowly by hand.
Wheel drive (2.48 B , 2.48 XC, 2.53 B )
1. Wheel drive on: Raise drive bracket (J, 3).
2. Wheel drive off: Relapse drive bracket (J, 3).
Warm start
1. Raise and hold the safety bracket (J, 1).
2. Pull starter grip (K) and return it slowly by hand.
Stop Motor
Release safety bracket (J, 1).
• If the motor does not start in cold weather, press the primer.
• If the motor stops due to lack of fuel, refill with fuel and
press the primer firmly (three times).
Maintenance
Disconnect spark plug cap and starter key before
proceeding
Clean mower thoroughly after each mowing with cloth or
brush.
Do not spray with water. Keep mower in a dry room.
Cleaning operations and blade change R
1. Pull off the sparkplug connector!
2. Raise the cutting height to its highest position
3. For cleaning and changing the blade, tip the mower to the
side as illustrated.
Sharpening and changing blade S
Disconnect spark plug cap and starter key before
proceeding
Blade should always be sharpened by an approved Service
Centre. Change blade according to drawing.
Information for Service Centre, blade retaining screw to be
tightened to: screw = 38-42 Nm.
djusting the Bowden cable coupling J T
1. Raise the drive bracket (J, 3) app. 2 cm and hold.
2. Loosen the locking nut (T, 1).
3. Turn the setscrew (T, 2) left until the drive wheels are
blocked when you pull the mower backwards.
4. Tighten locking nut (T, 1).
Tips for mowing Q
• To prevent strips of grass from being left unmowed, the
cutting paths must always overlap a few centimeters.

Emptying the grass bag
Only when mower is stationary and rotating blade
has come to complete standstill.
The grassbox is full and should be emptied as soon as grass
clippings remain uncollected on the ground behind your mower.
Fixing of handle
Take care that the switch cable does not become caught and
crushed when folding the handlebar (fig. , B, C).
Change oil only
While engine is warm and fuel tank empty.
Change oil after the first 5 working hours. Thereafter change
engine oil every 25 working hours and at the end of the mowing
season. Change engine oil more frequently if working under
extreme and dusty conditions. To drain the engine oil, remove
oil filler cap, tilt machine slowly to side and allow oil to drain
from the crankcase through the filler.

Cleaning of Spark Plug
Check and clean regularly, reset plug gap as required (0,76 mm).
Cleaning of air filter
Refer to the engine manufacturer's handbook supplied.
Winter storage
• Drain fuel tank.
• Drain carburettor
- start engine, keep it running until it stops from fuel
Starvation
• Clean the whole machine thoroughly
• Change oil, 4-stroke engine.
• Prepare engine for winter storage as follows:
- Remove spark plug
- Poor one teaspoon full of engine oil into spark plug hole
- Pull starter rope slowly to distribute oil evenly inside cylinder
- Replace spark plug but do not connect spark plug lead
- Pull starter rope until resistance is felt (valves are now closed)
• Store mower in a cool and dry place.
We recommend: Have your mower thoroughly checked once
a year by approved Service gent.
