Replace broken shear pins with original
replacement parts. Using unauthorised
replacement parts may cause severe damage
to the machine. 62-70 ELD - 72 ELDT models a
couple of shear pins are placed on the
dashboard (2, Fig.32).
1. Switch off the engine and disconnect the
spark plug connector.
2. Remove damaged shear pins (2, Fig.53).
3. Check the shaft for damage.
4. Insert new shear pins and secure with safety
split pins (1, Fig.53).
Battery (56 EL)
To ensure long life to the battery it is essential
to keep it carefully maintained.
The machine battery must always be charged:
- before using the machine for the first time
after purchase;
- before leaving the machine for a prolonged
period of disuse;
- before starting up the machine after a
prolonged period of disuse.
Carefully read and comply with the procedure
for recharging described in the Charging
battery chapter on page 28. If the procedure is
not followed or the battery is not charged,
irreparable damage could be caused to the
elements inside the battery.
A flat battery must be recharged as soon as
possible.
Major servicing
It is advisable to have the machine inspected by
a specialist technician at an Authorised Service
Centre at the end of each season, if used
intensively, or every two years in the case of
normal use.
7. ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION
Environmental protection should be a priority
of considerable importance when using the
machine, for the benefit of both social cohesion
and the environment in which we live.
- Try not to cause any disturbance to the
surrounding area.
- Scrupulously comply with local regulations
and provisions for the disposal of oils, petrol,
batteries, filters, deteriorated parts or any
elements which have a strong impact on the
environment. This waste must not be
disposed of as normal waste, it must be
separated and taken to specified waste
disposal centres where the material will be
recycled.
Demolition and disposal
When the machine reaches the end of its
service life, do not dispose of it into the
environment; instead take it to a waste disposal
centre.
Most materials used in the manufacture of the
machine are recyclable; all metals (steel,
aluminium, brass) can be delivered to a normal
recycling station. For information contact your
local waste recycling service. Waste disposal
must be carried out with respect for the
environment, avoiding soil, air and water
pollution.
In all cases, applicable local legislation must
be complied with.
