If you have problems with your system, look through this chart
and see if you can solve the problem yourself before calling your
dealer or TEAC service center.
No power
e Check the connection to the AC power supply.
No sound or only a very low-level sound is heard.
e Check that the speakers and components are connected
securely.
e Check the operation of the connected component.
e Check the audio output setting of the connected
component.
e Adjust the volume.
e If muting is on, press the muting button (
control unit.
The sound is noisy.
e The unit is too close to a TV set or similar appliances.
Relocate the unit , or turn them off.
Sound cuts off during listening to the music or no sound even
though power is ON.
"PROTECT" is displayed
e Speaker impedance is less than prescribed for this unit.
Use a speaker with an impedance of between 4 and 8 ohms,
preferably 6 ohms.
e Turn the power off and turn it on again. Then reduce the
volume.
Cannot select the desire surround mode
e Check the source to play for compatibility (DTS, Dolby
Digital, etc).
e Check the speaker configuration settings.
Low bass response.
e Speaker polarity (+/_) is reversed. Check all speakers for
correct polarity.
e Turn on your powered Subwoofer.
Cannot listen to any station, or signal is too weak.
e Tune in the station properly.
e If a TV is near the unit, turn it off.
e Install the antenna again after locating the best reception
position.
e An external antenna may be required.
The tuning step is not consistent with broadcasts in your
country.
e To correct the tuning step, hold down the FM/AM or BAND
for more than 4 seconds.

Troubleshooting
Remote control does not work.
e If the batteries are exhausted, change the batteries.
e Use remote control unit within the range (5m/15ft) and point
at the front panel.
e Clear obstacles between the remote control unit and the
main unit.
e If a fluorescent light is near the unit, turn it off.
e Check the operation of your remote control unit. (Turn it on
and select an appropriate device.)
If normal operation cannot be achieved, unplug the power cord
from the outlet and plug it again.

To reset the unit
In the following cases, function buttons may not work properly.
1) When the system is damaged by some electrical shock.
2) When the power is irregular or has electrical noises.
In such a case, reset this unit by quickly (technically, at intervals
of 0.7 second) pressing the following two buttons on the front
panel in the order indicated.
When you press the buttons at proper intrevals and the unit is
reset, the currrent date is momentarily displayed and the unit
is automatically switched on.
* Preset your favorite radio stations again as they are erased
from memory. Ditto for your speaker configuration settings.
