4 TRASPORT, MOVIMENT, STORAGE

4.1 GENERAL WARNINGS

All personnel assigned to the transport, movement,
unpacking and storage of the machine must possess the
qualifications required for such tasks and be provided with
the appropriate individual safety gear and clothing.
Before lifting or moving the package or the machine, make
sure that no potential dangers exist along the envisioned
path of movement such as steps, differences in level, difficult
passages, obstacles, or slippery liquids or substances on
the floor, etc.
CAUTION: Make sure to remove from the area
any metal tacks, nails, rivets, cutting surfaces or
anything else that might damage the package.

4.2 PACKAGING

4.2.1 TYPE OF PACKAGING

The movable arm and the trolley are contained in a special
case, placed in a wooden cage, sealed with nylon.
4.2.2 CHECKS TO PERFORM WHEN RECEIVING THE
PACKED MACHINE
Upon receiving the packed machine, the client must
check its integrity and immediately notify the shipper or
the transport officer of any evident defects, omissions
or damage before performing any further movement or
unpacking operations.
IMPORTANT: Visible signs of damage on the
package may mean that damage has occurred
to the machine or its parts. In case of doubt
regarding the integrity of the machine following
transport, request information from your local
authorised dealer before proceeding to further
operations.

4.2.3 MOVEMENT OF THE PACKED MACHINE

The movement of the packed machine must be performed
by personnel equipped with gloves and safety shoes using
equipment suited for the purpose.

4.2.4 STORAGE OF THE PACKED MACHINE

The package must be stored in a protected dry roofed area
not exposed to atmospheric agents suited for the purpose
at temperatures of from 5° - 40°C and relative humidity
values of no greater than 80% .

4.3 UNPACKING

4.3.1 OPENING THE PACKED MACHINE

Place the packing case upright on the floor - use a hammer
or crowbar to prise the top off the wooden case and then
do the same with the sides.
Remove the film covering the trolley with the aid of a
cutter.
CAUTION: Personnel must wear the appropriate
individual protection gear (gloves, safety
shoes) in order to prevent cuts and contusions
when opening the packed machine.

4.3.2 REMOVING THE COMPONENTS

Use a pallet truck to lift the trolley off the pallet, lower it to
the ground and use a pair of scissors to cut the straps from
the four feet securing the trolley.

4.3.3 CHECKS

Make sure all components are accounted for, checking
them off against the following list, at the same time
inspecting them for damage.
If any components are missing or if you suspect any of the
parts are damaged, contact your local dealer without delay
before proceeding.
Components contained in the packing case:

Complete trolley;
-
Computer, keyboard, mouse (where purchased);
-

Movable arm;

Three probes of different lengths;
-
2 different extensions (1 for TOUCH BIKE model);
-
Owner's manual (preinstalled on PC);
-
CMM performance check report (on request);
-
TOUCH 1.1 software user guide (preinstalled on PC).

4.3.4 ELIMINATION OF THE PACKING MATERIAL

The packaging material must be eliminated in compliance
with the regulations in force in the nation of use of the
machine.
The packing elements (plastic bags, polystyrene foam,
nails, screws, wood, etc.) are a possible source of danger
and must not be left within reach of children.
These materials must be grouped as pollutants or
nonbiodegradable waste and sent to the appropriate
collection centers.

4.3.5 MOVING THE MACHINE

The machine can be moved manually by one person using
the appropriate equipment and wearing gloves and safety
shoes.
WARNING: Do not place any object on the
machine during handling. When moving the
equipment from one place to another, proceed
with extreme care to prevent it falling, being
knocked etc. - delicate parts may be damaged
(damage may not be evident at first glance, but
may result in operating trouble later on).
