VI. MODALITIES AND START-UP OF THERMOFLASH® LX-26

EVOLUTION

1. Install the batteries.
2. When the batteries are used for the first time or when inserting
new batteries, wait about 15 minutes for the device to reach room
temperature.
3. Aim the device at the temporal lobe or a side/temple, as shown (SEE
A
DIAGRAM PAGE 2), at a distance of 2 to 5 cm (0.79 - 1.97 in) press
the measurement key, the temperature is instantly displayed. The
temperature can also be taken behind the ear lobe - on the jugular
vein.
VII. MENU SETTING & FUNCTIONS
1. Choice of temperature display mode
Body mode: Measurement of the body temperature.
Measuring range: 32°C to 42.9°C (89.6°F to 109.2°F)
Surface mode: Measurement of the surface temp of an object or food.
Measuring range: 0°C to 93.3°C (32.0°F to 199.94 °F)
Room mode: Measure the ambient temperature of a room.
Measuring range: 0°C to 50°C (32°F to 122°F)
Press the measurement button to turn on the device.
Press MODE button to select the temperature measurement mode.
The screen displays: Body mode - for body temperature measurement.
Press the MODE button again to switch to SURFACE mode. The screen
displays Surface.
Press the MODE button again to switch to ROOM mode. The screen
displays Room.
Note: the THERMOFLASH LX-26 EVOLUTION is automatically set to BODY.
IMPORTANT: The area temperature differs from the internal body
temperature.
Use BODY mode only to obtain the internal body temperature.
2. Choice of temperature unit
Press the °C/°F button to select the temperature unit. The screen,
displays the symbol of the selected unit (°C for degrees Celsius, °F for
degrees Fahrenheit).
3. Data memory
Press MEM for two seconds to display the last measure. Press MODE
and C°/F° to scroll through the last recorded measurements. To exit the
menu, press the measure key. The device automatically switches off
after 5 seconds of inactivity.
4. Alarm threshold
The alarm threshold is set to 38°C. This cannot be changed. If the
temperature is over 38°C, a beep sounds during the temperature
measurement.

5. Changing the batteries
When the LCD screen displays
Open the cover and replace the used batteries taking care to observe
polarity. A polarity error may cause damage and void the guarantee.
Do not use batteries other than the batteries mentioned, do not
recharge non-rechargeable batteries, or throw them into a fire.
Remove the batteries when not using the device for a long period. Use
disposable batteries.

The THERMOFLASH® LX-26E can take temperature measurements
below 32°C / 89.6°F or above 42.9°C / 109.22°F. Outside these
temperature ranges, precision is not guaranteed.
Longevity of use
The ThermoFlash LX-26 EVOLUTION is guaranteed for about 40,000
readings.

X. TROUBLESHOOTING
If you experience any of these problems using your THERMOFLASH®
LX-26 EVOLUTION, please refer to this troubleshooting guide to resolve
the problem. If the problem persists, please contact our customer
service at +33 892 350 334 (0.40€ per minute).
- The display indicates temperatures above 95°: the temperature is
indicated in Fahrenheit. Change the unit of measure to Celsius.
- The screen displays temperatures below 32°C (89.6°F) : to measure
body temperature, the mode BODY must be selected. If the
thermometer is in SURFACE or ROOM mode, the displayed reading
indicates the external temperature released by your body.
- The screen displays the message HI : the analysed temperature is
above the range of the selected mode, i.e. greater than 42.9°C (109.2°F)
in BODY mode, or 60°C (140°F) in SURFACE mode.
