4) DESCRIPTION OF THE WORKING
MECHANISM
IMPORTANT: Before each use, check
that the steam outlets from the operating
valve and the nozzle outlet on the lid are
not obstructed. (see section7).
The working valve has an automatic spring
mechanism (fig.2)
After the cooking pressure has been selected
in accordance with Fig.8 or 9, the spring
inside the valve will gradually compress as
the inside pressure mounts (PPSSSS...). After
the selected pressure is reached, the valve
will expel excess pressure through the vapour
outlet.
Avoid the total evaporation of the water inside
the cooker.
DO NOT SUBMERGE THE PRESSURE
COOKER IN WATER.
NEVER FORCE THE PRESSURE COOKER OPEN.
5) DESCRIPTION AND USE OF THE
SAFETY MECHANISM
IMPORTANT: Before each use, check that
the safety valve housed on the inside of the
handle is not obstructed. (see section 7).
• How to close: The pressure cooker has
only one closed position. To close, simply
align the mark on the lid on the right-hand
side of the handle with the mark on the top of
the pan handle. This slots the lid into position
ready for closing (fig. 6).
If the lid is not closed properly, pressure
will not build up inside. To close, slid the lid
handle towards the pan handle as far as it
will go. The pressure cooker will then close
automatically (fig. 5).
• How to open: The pressure indicator (fig.
1/11) indicates pressure levels. As the cooker
heats up and pressure is generated in its
interior, the indicator will rise automatically. As
this occurs, vapour should escape from the
side of the lid handle (fig.11). The pressure
indicator prevents the cooker from being
opened while pressurised.
When the pressure indicator has returned
to its normal position inside the lid, set the
button to the 'open' position (fig. 4).
• How to avoid excessive pressure: The
pressure cooker has two excessive pressure
prevention systems:
- Working valve: when the pressure inside
the cooker corresponds to the selected
working pressure, the working valve
allows vapour to escape, thus preventing
the pressure from increasing (fig 2).
- Safety valve: this is located on the inside
of the lid handle (fig. 3). It is activated only
when the working valve fails to carry out
its function (when it is dirty, for example)
and causes a large quantity of vapour
to escape from all around the lid handle.
If this happens, clean the working valve
immediately.
NEVER FORCE THE LID OPEN
6) INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
To open the cooker
Move the open-close selector to the open
position and turn the lid handle to the right
holding the body handle in your left hand
(fig. 4) until the mark on the lid is in line with the
centre of the body handle. Now remove the lid
by lifting directly upwards.
To close the cooker
• Before closing: always check that the safety
and working valves are clean and free from
obstruction (figs.2 and 3).
• Place the food and correct quantity of liquid
in the pan.
• Fit the lid on with your right hand, ensuring
that the mark on the lid coincides with the
mark on the pan handle (fig.6). Gently press
the lid with your left hand and turn the lid
handle in the direction of the pan handle as far
as it will go (fig. 5). The cooker will then close
automatically.
• Select the cooking pressure (figs. 8 and 9).

Cooking
Place the pan on an appropriate-size
hotplate or gas burner and turn to maximum.
When a continual stream of vapour escapes
from the working valve (PPSSSS...) (fig.9),
reduce the heat just enough to maintain
sufficient pressure to ensure a steady vapour
outlet. In this way you will achieve perfect
results with greater vitamin content and
reduce energy consumption.
