to power source and/or battery pack, picking up or carrying the tool. Carrying power
tools with your finger on the switch or energising power tools that have the switch ON invites
accidents .
d) Remove any adjusting key or wrench before turning the power tool ON. A wrench or a key
left attached to a rotating part of the power tool may result in personal injury .
e) Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. This enables better control
of the power tool in unexpected situations .
f) Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery. Keep your hair and clothing away
from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewellery or long hair can be caught in moving parts .
g) If devices are provided for the connection of dust extraction and collection facilities,
ensure these are connected and properly used. Use of dust collection can reduce dust-related
hazards .
h) Do not let familiarity gained from frequent use of tools allow you to become complacent
and ignore tool safety principles. A careless action can cause severe injury within a fraction of a
second .
4) Power tool use and care
a) Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your application. The correct
power tool will do the job better and safer at the rate for which it was designed .
b) Do not use the power tool if the switch does not turn it ON and OFF. Any power tool that
cannot be controlled with the switch is dangerous and must be repaired .
c) Disconnect the plug from the power source and/or remove the battery pack, if detachable,
from the power tool before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing
power tools. Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting the power tool
accidentally .
d) Store idle power tools out of the reach of children and do not allow persons unfamiliar
with the power tool or these instructions to operate the power tool. Power tools are
dangerous in the hands of untrained users .
e) Maintain power tools and accessories. Check for misalignment or binding of moving
parts, breakage of parts and any other condition that may affect the power tool's
operation. If damaged, have the power tool repaired before use. Many accidents are caused
by poorly maintained power tools .
f) Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges
are less likely to bind and are easier to control .
g) Use the power tool, accessories and tool bits, etc. in accordance with these instructions,
taking into account the working conditions and the work to be performed. Use of the
power tool for operations different from those intended could result in a hazardous situation .
h) Keep handles and grasping surfaces dry, clean and free from oil and grease. Slippery
handles and grasping surfaces do not allow for safe handling and control of the tool in
unexpected situations .
5) Service
a) Have your power tool serviced by a qualified repair person using only identical
replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of the power tool is maintained .
Specific Safety
Electric Water Pump Safety
• The pump must always be transported, used, submerged, and stored vertically . Only carry the
pump by the lifting handle . Never carry, lift or submerge the pump by its power cable
• This product is not designed for continuous use . Excessive usage will shorten service life and
invalidate the warranty
• DO NOT use this pump with substances other than water
• Sand and other abrasive material suspended in the liquid causes increased wear and reduces
the pump's output capacity
• NEVER use this pump when ambient temperatures are close to freezing
• DO NOT attempt to operate the pump below the minimum water level as this will cause
permanent damage
• This device contains dangerous voltages . Never remove any part of the casing
• Inspect the power cable and extension cord before every use to ensure they are in good
condition . ALWAYS have a damaged cable/extension cable replaced by an authorised Silverline
service centre . ONLY use extensions with suitable cross section and outdoors rating . NEVER pull
the cable to disconnect it from the power socket . NEVER carry the tool by its cable . NEVER touch
live power cables or plug sockets with wet hands. Keep the cable away from heat, oil, solvents
and sharp edges
• ALWAYS observe local laws and regulations when connecting submersible pumps to the power
supply. Consult a qualified electrician when necessary
• This pump must be operated exclusively on power points that are protected by an RCD with a
maximum tripping current of 30mA and a maximum delay of 40ms
• DO NOT use this pump in swimming pools or ponds that are occupied
• Pollution of the liquid could occur due to leakage of lubricants

Intended Use

Submersible pump designed for domestic, time-limited operation around the house and garden,
predominantly for drainage, transfer of liquids, draining containers, taking water from wells,
draining boats and yachts, as well as water aeration and circulation .
Unpacking Your Tool
• Carefully unpack and inspect your tool. Fully familiarise yourself with all its features and
functions
• Ensure all parts of the tool are present and in good condition . If any parts are missing or
damaged, have such parts replaced before attempting to use this tool
• Ensure all packaging materials are removed from the product . Ensure the water inlet and outlet
are clear before use
Before Use
Note: The pump is fully submersible to the depth and maximum temperature listed in
'Specification' , into clean or slightly contaminated water (see 'Specification' for maximum particle
size), swimming pool and soapy water .
Attaching the outlet hose
• Screw the Outlet Elbow Connector (7) into the Water Outlet (8)
• This pump features a Hose Connector (6) that is compatible with multiple hose diameters:
38mm (1-1/2''), 32mm (1-1/4'') and 25mm (1'') (Fig . II)
Note: 38mm (1-1/2") hose must be used to achieve maximum delivery capacity (as stated in
'Specification').
1. Decide which hose diameter you are going to use and determine where on the Hose Connector
(6) this diameter hose is fastened
2. Cut off the smaller steps of the Hose Connector which are not required, using a suitable knife
(not included). This removes unnecessary flow restrictions and ensures maximum pump capacity
and water flow (Fig. II)
3. Fit the hose on to the Hose Connector and secure with a hose clip (not included)
Note: It is recommended to use stainless steel hose clips to prevent corrosion .
Setting up the pump
1 . Attach a suitable rope to the Lifting Handle (5), to lower the pump into the water, to adjust its
position when submerged, and to lift the pump back out of the water .
2. Locate a position for submerging the pump - where the float switch can move freely - if automatic
operation is required .
3 . Ensure a safe path for the power cable, where it cannot be damaged, does not pose a hazard, and
where it can safely reach the mains power supply (also see 'Electrical connection') .
4. Observe the maximum head height (see 'Specification'). Keep the hose as short and straight as
possible. Ensure it does not kink as this would restrict the water flow.
IMPORTANT: Kinked or otherwise obstructed hoses lead to reduced pump capacity and may lead to
pump damage through overheating .
Adjusting the Float Switch
• To adjust the cut-in and cut-out height, attach the Float Switch (2) cable to the Float Switch Lock
(4) at the required length (Fig . I)
Submerging & lifting the pump
• The pump must be submerged below the water level (see 'Specification')
• Use the rope attached to the Lifting Handle (5) to position the pump underwater . NEVER attempt
to move the pump by pulling or manipulating the power cable
