REGULATIONS AND SUBSTITUTION FOR USING A
DIFFERENT GAS THAN THE TYPE PROVIDED FOR
Functioning with different gas than the type provided for.
For changing to another type of gas it is necessary to substitute the nozzle in the main burners and
in the pilot burner, following the indications given in the following paragraphs. The type of nozzle
to install can be found in tables 2÷10 (pages 32÷35). The nozzles for the main burner, marked with
the relative diameter would be request to the firm. When the conversion is completed, check the
tightness of the pipe fittings and also that the ignition and functioning of both pilot burner and main
burner, at both minimum and maximum, are correct. It may be necessary to check the output
(power).
Then, modify the technical sheet (fig. 4 – page 3) and place in the position H the sheet relevant to
the new gas delivered as standard equipment.
Substituting the burner nozzle (fig.9, 10 – page 4)
In order to substitute the nozzle of the burner, remove the knobs (1), the drip pan (2), and the
control panel (3). After clearing the work area, loosen the screws fixing the support bracket of the
nozzle holder (4) and remove the nut (5) and the bicone (6). Unscrew the nozzle from the nozzle
holder (7) by means of a spanner and replace it with a suitable nozzle for the type of gas used,
shown in 2÷10 (pages 32÷35). Reassemble the nozzle tightening it well. When all this is done,
replace the parts previously removed in other way round.
Regulating the burner primary air
If liquid gas or methane gas of type H is used, it is not necessary to regulate the primary air. On the
contrary, if the methane gas of type L is used, it is necessary to install a regulating ty-rap.
Regulation at minimum (fig. 11 – p.5)
In order to function with liquid gas, the by-pass (1) has to be regulated as indicated in tables 2÷10
(pages 32÷35). On the other hand, while functioning with methane gas, the by-pass (1) has to be
regulated in the following way: read the value of the minimum output in tables 2÷10 (pages 32÷35)
and convert it into l/h using the "Volumetric method" previously described; at this stage the
appliance can be started up, following the instructions. Then, it is necessary to regulate the by-pass
capacity by reading the meter, turning it clockwise for reducing the flow and anti-clockwise for
increasing it. After regulating, fix the by-pass position with a drop of red paint, suitable for this use.
Gas griddle plate (fig. 12 – page 5)
In order to switch on the burner of the appliance, proceed as follows:
-
Turn the knob (1) from the OFF position  into the on position
-
Press down to the bottom;
-
Press the button of the lighter (2) to light the burner;
-
Keep the knob pressed down until the thermocouple heats up: this can be checked through the
slit in the control panel;
-
Light on the main burner, positioning the knob in one of the possible positions between
maximum and minimum.
In order to switch off the main burner, it is necessary to turn the knob the OFF position .
