Wear Appropriate Clothing

Wear close fitting clothing and safety
equipment appropriate for the job.
The following equipment is required:
- safety goggles or safety glasses with
side shields
- a hard hat when working with the
machine
- protective gloves (in neoprene for
chemical products, in leather for heavy-
duty work)
- protective ear muffs or ear plugs
- respirator or filtering mask
- close fitting, waterproof clothing
- reflecting garments
- safety footwear

Fire prevention

Remove grass and debris from the
engine compartment and silencer area
before and after using the machine.
Always shut off the fuel valve, if
installed, when the machine is stored
or transported.
Do not park the machine near an open
flame or source of ignition, such as a
water heater or a boiler.
Frequently check the fuel lines, the
tank, plugs and fittings for cracks or
leaks. Replace them if necessary
Never store the machine with fuel in the
tank inside a building where fumes
could reach an open flame or spark.
Allow the engine to cool before storing
the machine in a closed place.
