Installation and commissioning of DiTemp DT3

Select the installation location in accordance with the technical data.
When measuring high media temperatures it is possible that the ambient temperature at
the thermometer housing will exceed the permissible maximum value (+60 °C). This may
damage the measuring device.
We recommend the use of our DiTemp DT3 with remote cable when measuring media
temperatures greater than 200 °C.
The DiTemp DT3 functions irrespective of its installation position. Install the thermometer
with a minimum sensor immersion depth of 20 mm in the medium to be measured.
The LCD segment has been optimised to a so-called 6 o'clock viewing angle. The best
display contrast is achieved if the viewing direction is from the front and below the normal.
Commissioning:
Commissioning of the device is not necessary. It is inspected before delivery and can be
used immediately. The current temperature of the sensor is displayed.
Devices with remote sensor cables require the sensor cable to be connected before use.
The sensor error indication 'Sen' is displayed if the remote sensor cable is not connected
( " Error messages: SEn").
Measurement cycle:
The measurement cycle of the device is 3 s.
Reference measurement:
The device automatically carries out an internal alignment at a reference resistor bevor each
measurement. This ensures constant accuracy of the measured value.

Display

The DiTemp DT3 has a 3½-digit digital display and an analogue bar graph. The microproces-
sor of the device permanently checks the plausibility of the sensor signal. The exact tempera-
ture value can be read from the digital display. The analogue bar graph makes readout easy,
even from relatively far away.
Error messages:
In the event of an error, the result is provided at the digital display:

SEn Sensor error:
The sensor or the supply line are defective. If the device needs repair, it must be re-
turned to the manufacturer.
DiTemp DT3 with remote cable:
Check that the remote sensor cable is connected correctly and is not damaged.

Lo State of the battery:
The battery is emty and the DiTemp DT3 has reached the end of his lifetime. Replace
the DiTemp DT3 with a new device.
