If the patient can not lay down use the instructions below to remove the sling:
1. Put the head rest of the bed in upright position.
2. Put the bed at a comfortable height for you and the patient.
3. Position the patient above the bed by rolling the patient hoist over the bed. The toes
of the patient shall be pointing to the leg section of the bed.
4. Gently lower the patient in the bed.
5. Remove the mounting straps of the spreader bar.
6. Place the patient hoist out of the way.
7. Remove the sling. Sometimes it can be practical to leave the sling in the bed. If the
sling is left in the bed it is better to use the net polyester sling.
8. Slightly bend the legs of the patient.
9. Remove the leg rests by pulling the mounting straps under the leg.

10. Pull gently the sling from under the patient.
2.3.3 Lifting from / to toilet
Lifting from / to the toilet is done with the "Hygienic" sling.
The same procedure lifting from / to sitting position can be used.
With the method below the underwear or diaper can be removed during lifting. This method
is only useful for a woman with a dress / skirt where she is not sitting on.
1. If the patient is lifted from a wheelchair, apply the brakes of the wheelchair and
remove the arm supports.
2. Spread out the sling and hold the handles to you.
3. Place the sling behind the back of the patient.
4. Lean the patient a little bit forward until the underwear or diaper can be pushed down
to the seat. Give the patient enough support.

5. Press the bottom side of the sling to the backside of the patient. You can do this with
your palm. Bring the sling to the inside of the underwear or diaper.

6. Pull the legrest of the sling forward along the outside of the patient's thighs and to the
inside of the underwear.
7. Pull on the legrest with both hands until it is on the good place.
8. Repeat step 6 until 7 for the other legrest.
9. Pull on both legrests at the same time until all folds are out of the backrest. Check of
both legrests are of equal lenght.
10. Slightly lift the leg of the patient upwards.
11. Place the legrest below the thigh.
