Connecting the base station
Connect the base station as illustrated in the diagram. For reasons of
safety, only use the power adapter plug and telephone connection line sup-
plied.
Inserting the batteries
Open the battery compartment cover. Insert the batteries in the battery
compartment. Close the battery compartment.
Charging the batteries
The handset warms up during the charging process. This is normal and
does not represent a risk. Do not charge the handset with charging units
from other manufacturers. The battery charge status is indicated in the dis-
play. When the battery charge has reached its lower limit value, the battery
icon n flashes in the display and an acoustic warning signal is issued.

Attention: Position the base station at least 1 meter away from
other electronic devices, otherwise there is a risk of mutual
disturbance.
Attention: Only use the power adapter plug supplied with the
base station.
Attention: Only use NiMH rechargeable batteries of the type
AAA cell, 1.2 V / 500 mAh! Never use standard batteries/primary
cells! Pay attention to correct polarity.
Before the handset is used for the first time, insert it in the base/
charging station for at least 12 hours.
