1. Separating the earth wire from the battery
The earth wire must be separated from the battery before the work begins to prevent short circuits
during assembly and for safety reasons (fire risk)!!!
Attention: On-board computer / Anti-theft drive lock / Airbag! Disconnecting the battery can mean
losing stored data! Please observe the manufacturer's regulations!!!
2. Assembling the line set and the power outlet socket
Disassembling the coverings:
Remove the tail plate covering.
Loosen the coverings of both sides of the boot.
Remove the reserve covering and drill a hole in the spare wheel well at the rear left side which is
ø40mm for the 13-pin socket and ø17mm for the 7-pin socket. Please observe sufficient drilling
leeway. The ø 40mm hole can, for example, be made with a bevelled cutter.
Lay the socket end of the socket wire lane with seal from the inside through the pre-drilled leadthrough
above the coupling cross brace to the socket retaining plate.
Fit the seal on the pre-drilled cable leadthrough. The 13-pole socket is already wired; the 7-pole
socket must be connected according to the wiring plan.
Place socket seal, insert inner part with the socket casing and screw onto the holder with the enclosed
screws.
Caution!!
The following points are especially to be noted when assembling the socket:
- The leads may not become caught, squeezed or damaged!
- The seals must be fitted properly! Socket sealing should be on the insulating hose, and not on the
individual leads!
- Lay the line set so there is no risk of abrasion or wear!
- Do not lay close to the exhaust system!
Run the wire lane with the colours yellow, grey/black, green/white,... to the left rear light.. Run the wire
lane with the colours green, black/red, grey/red, ... along the loading edge (underneath the loading
edge cover strip) towards the right rear light, if necessary, leave free some of the tail support covering.
Remove the plugs from the rear lights and connect the corresponding plug of the electrical system to
the rear lights. Adapt the plugs of the vehicle wire lane with the corresponding sockets of the electrical
system.
Fasten the control unit to an appropriate place on the left side with the enclosed Velcro tape insert the
12-pin plug of the line set into the control unit.
Fasten the brown and brown/white earth cable with the ring eyelet on the vehicle earthing point
(screw M8 left roof support post).
Continuous power supply of the control unit :
Lay the long red single cable along the left side of the vehicle to the front.
Insert the free flat plug into the fuse holder and install yellow clip.
Connect the cable socket to terminal 30 (battery+) or the relay lane connecting block, insert fuse and
place cover.
