Working procedures
Preparatory procedures
1. Provide adequate isolation, best with a rubber dam.
2. Roughen the metal surface (intraoral blasting device or
diamond or corundum burs).
3. Bevel the defective area (1–2 mm) of the ceramic or
composite material with a diamond bur. Provide ample
water cooling. Dry with oil-free air.
4. Apply Total Etch on the ceramic or composite surface
as well as on the exposed metal surface and let it react
for 10–15 seconds. Subsequently, thoroughly rinse with
water and dry with oil-free air.
5. Apply Monobond S silanizing agent on the ceramic or
composite surface using a brush and let it react for
60 seconds. After that, dry with oil-free air.
Accidental contact of Monobond-S with the metal
surface does not negatively influence the bonding
performance.
Application of the opaquer
6. Apply the opaquer on the conditioned metal surface
exclusively. Observe a maximum layer thickness of
0.5 mm. Subsequently, polymerize with light (e.g.
bluephase, HIP program) for 20 seconds. If masking is
still inadequate, apply a second opaquer layer and
polymerize it for 20 seconds.
Further procedures
7. Apply Heliobond on the entire surface to be repaired
(opaquer and ceramic/composite material), blow it to a
thin layer, and polymerize it with light (e.g. bluephase,
LOP program) for 20 seconds.
8. Use a transparent matrix band (e.g. Contour Strip) and
wedges for restorations that extend to the proximal
area.
9. Reconstruct the restoration by applying Tetric EvoCeram
layer by layer. Polymerize each layer for 20 seconds at a
light intensity of at least 500 mW/cm
or 10 seconds at a light intensity of at least
1100mW/cm
2
(e.g. bluephase, HIP program).
10. Finish and polish the restoration.

(e.g. bluephase C8)
Warning
Unpolymerized Monopaque should not come in contact
with skin, mucous membrane, or eyes. Unpolymerized
Monopaque may have a slight irritating effect and may
lead to a sensitization against methacrylates.
Commercial medical gloves do not provide protection
against the sensitizing effect of methacrylates.
Storage
– Do not use Monopaque after the indicated date of
expiration.
– Storage temperature: 2–28 °C / 36–82 °F
– Note: Close syringe immediately after use. Exposure to
light causes premature polymerization.
– Shelf life: see information on syringes and packages.
– Syringes should not be disinfected with oxidizing
disinfection agents.
Keep the material out of the reach of children.
