 Calibration: Make sure your device is calibrated correctly. To do this, please use the soft-
ware instructions.
 Optics: Please refer to the "OptiVID" operating instructions.
 Software: Use the F1 key for online help or refer to our "Quick start" or " Operating
instructions" documents.
 Zoom 3) : Turn the knob 5) to change the magnification. The zoom positions are indexed.
You should therefore feel a "click" when you are in the required position. A sticker on the
zoom allows you to know your position. Make sure you are on the same position in your
software.
 Sharpness : Place the part to be measured on the glass 19) of the X-Y table 8). Switch to
the highest magnification of your zoom 5) to get the shallowest depth of field. Use the
hand-wheel 15) to adjust the sharpness of the image. You can then return to a lower mag-
nification, the image will remain sharp.
 Measurement : To move your part, use the hand-wheels 7) and 19). If necessary, you can
disengage the X axis with the levers 8) and 18).
 Lighting 6), 9) and 27) : Adjust the light intensities using the light boxes 28). For more in-
formation, refer to the operating instructions
each illuminator or the operating instructions
your illuminators. In optical inspection, it is very important to control the reflections on the
parts and to know the optimal conditions to guarantee the reliability of the measurement.
This involves working with rather dark images. A calibration operation on a part similar to
the ones you are measuring, whose exact dimensions are known to you, will make it possi-
ble to define the ideal lighting conditions.
Troubleshooting
Descriptions :
The lighting supplies 28) or the illumina-
tors 6), 9) or 27) are defective.
Camera 2) malfunctions or does not
work.
A "License Error" or "Li-cense Not
Found" message appears.
The PC or monitor no longer works.

Procedures :
1. Check that the cables are correctly connected
in the power supplies.
2. If this is not enough, refer to the operating in-
structions MA 356-041for single housings or
MA 356-042 for three-light housings.
3. If you need to order a replacement power
supply, take the part number written under
the housing.
1. Check that the camera indicator light is
green. If this is not the case, it means that the
camera is not powered.
2. Check that the camera cable 1) is correctly
screwed to the camera and correctly con-
nected on the computer side.
3. Connect the camera cable 1) to another port
(usually blue for USB3 models).
4. Check, by disconnecting it, that a device con-
nected to the computer (external hard disk,
loudspeaker, etc.) does not interfere with the
camera signal.
