16. Equip the vehicle's cables coming from the switch of the rear fog lamps with the supplied
quick-connect receptacles. Equip the cables leading to the vehicle's rear fog lamps with the
supplied spade connectors.
17. Push the supplied insulating sheaths on all contacts.
18. Connect the quick-connect receptacle of the gray/white cable of the vehicle to the spade
connector of the blue cable of the retrofitted cable set.
19. Connect the quick-connect receptacle of the gray/violet cable of the vehicle to the spade
connector of the blue/white cable of the retrofitted cable set.
20. Connect the spade connector of the gray/white cable of the vehicle to the quick-connect
receptacle of the gray cable of the retrofitted cable set.
21. Connect the spade connector of the gray/violet cable of the vehicle to the quick-connect
receptacle of the gray/white cable of the retrofitted cable set.
Connecting the trailer control module
22. Plug the 12-pin plug and the 18-pin plug into the trailer module.
23. Secure the trailer module (Fig. 1/2) in a suitable place in the left-hand cavity using some
velcro tape.
24. Connect the brown wires with the eyelets to the vehicle's ground point (Fig. 1/3) at the left-
hand rear wheel case.
Connecting the power supply
25. On vehicles equipped with a suitable constant plus socket of 12V (Fig. 1/9) in the luggage
trunk, lay the cable harness with the red cables along the tail plate to the 12V socket.
26. On vehicles without a 12V socket, lay the cable harness with the red cables along the driver's
side to the constant plug distributor in the footwell on the driver's side (Fig. 1/1).
27. Let the quick-connect receptacle of the red cable (Fig. 2/5) of the cable harness and the one
of the supplied single red cable (Fig. 2/4) or the one of the socket adapter lock into place in
the fuse holder.
28. Install the yellow clip (Fig. 2/6).
29. Insert the fuse (Fig. 2/2) and fit the cover (Fig. 2/1).
30. Connect the red/black line in the same way.
31. Screw the red individual cables to the terminal 30 distributor (Fig. 1/1) or plug the adapter
connector into the 12V socket (Fig. 1/9).
Note
Ensure sufficient strain relief and correct installation of the fuse holder.
32. Only for 13-pin trailer socket:
Using the white 3-pin connector for the constant plus extension kit, the functions "Constant
plus", "Charge lead" and "Ground for charge lead" can be retrofitted.
The constant plus extension kit is available from specialist shops under the Westfalia part no.
300 025 300 113.
