Operation
Connect the unit to a suitable power source, note require-
ments on the ID plate. If an extension cord is to be used,
only waterproof cords are acceptable.
Th e DC 2800 H Asbestos is equipped with a fi lter indica-
tion lamp that indicates when the fi lter needs cleaning or
changing.
Th e fi lter is genereally cleaned once or twice daily during
normal continuous operation. Th e unit must be in operation
to perform fi lter cleaning. Loose the tube from the suction
pipe and press the plastic cage against the black stop head
on the exhaust channel so that maximum pressure is created
in the cyclone.
Open the port on the side o the unit three to six times. Th is
reverse pulse of air cleans the fi lter.
Th e plastic sack should be changed only after fi lter cleaning
is done and when the collected material level is about 5 cm
under the foot valve.
Service
With cleaning and maintenance on the machine, the power
cable should be disconnected from the supply.
Th e fi ne fi lter should be changed at least once per year. If
the machine is used with a microfi lter/HEPA fi lter, this
should be changed every 300 running hours. Use breathing
protection when changing the fi lter. Care must be taken
during the fi lter change not to expose unprotected persons
to harmful dust. Used fi lters should be sealed in a plastic
sack and disposed properly.
When changing the fi lters, check the gasket. An unsealed
gasket can cause discharge of whealty dust.
Check regularly that the electrical cable is not damaged.
Th e DC 2800H Asbest should be performance tested at
least once per year because it may be used with hazardus
materials. Worn parts must be replaced. Dustcontrol is not
responsible for machines that are equipped with other than
original spare parts.
For vacuum motor the typical average life of the ori-
ginal brushes is 600 - 700 hours. Th ey can then be
exchanged or complete motor/fan replaced. For 2nd
brush set life is ca. 400 hours and for 3rd brush set ca.
300 hours. After that the commutator is worn out and
the motor needs to be replaced.
Th e collection sack must be tied off when it is removed
from the unit. Th is is most easily done with the sacks own
tie strap. Be sure to put on a new strap before installing a
new collection sack. Follow the instructions below. Use only
original Dustcontrol spare parts.
