COMPONENT :
Select this when your TV or monitor is connected
via the COMPONENT VIDEO jack.
Component video signal is output from the
COMPONENT VIDEO OUT jack.
SCART :
Select this when your TV or monitor is connected
via the SCART VIDEO jack.
SCART VIDEO signal is output from the AV
CONNECTOR.
• Regardless of the setting, the VIDEO OUT jack is
always active on INTERLACE SCAN mode.
• If your TV is compatible with progressive scan,
connect the TV via the COMPONENT VIDEO jack
and SELECT COMPONENT VIDEO out.
Press the "PROGESSIVE SCAN" button on the
main unit.
If you want to change INTERLACE SCAN mode,
Press "PROGESSIVE SCAN" Button Again.
• When P-SCAN set to ON, the VIDEO output
format will be fixed to the "MULTI" mode
automatically regardless of the TV TYPE setting.
(See page 30.)
For example, if the DVD Video (PAL format)
reproduces with P-SCAN mode, the VIDEO output
format will be fixed only PAL format.
• Also STATUS button can change this setting while
"SETUP" briefly appears on the display of front
panel.

Select one of followings video mode.
AUTO :
The set identifies the type of material on the disc
being played (film or video) and selects the mode
automatically. This mode is suited for playing discs
containing both film and video material.
FILM :
This mode is best suited for playing discs
containing film material or video material recorded
with the progressive scan method.
VIDEO :
This mode is best suited for playing discs
containing video material.

passages objectionable. Adjusting this setting
allows you to compress the sounds into a range
that you may find more suitable for a particular
listening situation. Dolby Digital satisfies these
needs through the dynamic range controlling.
