10. Plug the connector housing 2 x 4-fold, 6-fold and 8-fold of the cable set into the intended ports
of the trailer control unit (Fig. 1/3) and let them lock into place.
11. Connect the brown wires with the eyelets to the vehicle's ground point (Fig. 1/4) in the area
above the wheel case.
12. Lay the cable set along the cables harnesses/ducts of the vehicle on the passenger side up to
the component carrier in the kick space on the passenger side.
13. Cut open the bandage (approximately 150 mm) of the vehicle's cable set in a suitable place at
the lower end of the A-pillar (in the area of the ground point).
14. Slightly pull out the black/red cable (Fig. 1/8) of the vehicle and connect it to the black/red
cable of the retrofitted cable set using the supplied insulation displacement connector.
15. Unclip the CAN distributor of the vehicle (Fig. 1/7) from the right side of the component carrier
and open the latch.
16. Plug the 2-pin black housing of the cable set into a free port of the CAN distributor (Fig. 1/7),
close the latch and lock the CAN distributor into place in the component carrier.
17. Cut open the bandage of the vehicle's cable set (approximately 150 mm) in a suitable place
on the way from the left next to the component carrier up to the fuse holder.
18. Slightly pull out the pink/red cable (Fig. 1/6) of the vehicle and connect it to the pink/red cable
of the retrofitted cable set using the supplied insulation displacement connector.
19. Let the quick-connect receptacle of the red/black cable (Fig. 2/5) of the cable set (Fig. 1/5)
and the one of the supplied single red cable (Fig. 2/3) lock into place in the supplied fuse
holder (Fig. 2/2).
20. Insert the yellow clip (Fig. 2/4) and the 20A fuse (Fig. 2/1).
21. Screw the eyelet to the positive battery pole.
Note
Ensure sufficient strain relief and correct installation of the fuse holder.
22. Only for 13-pin variant:
Using the 3-pin connector for the constant plus extension kit, the function "constant plus" can
be retrofitted.
The constant plus extension kit is available in specialist shops under the Westfalia part no.
300 027 300 113.
Checking correct operation
23. Reconnect the ground of the vehicle's battery.
24. Perform the variant coding for the towing hitch using Star-Diagnosis.
25. Check the trailer function with the help of a suitable test instrument (with load resistors) or
with the help of a trailer.
26. Secure all of the cables using cable ties.
27. Reattach any parts removed for installation.
