Use only the additional equipment and accesso-
ries specified in the operating instructions. Using
attachments or accessory tools other than those
recommended in the operating instructions can
lead to a risk of injury.
Additional safety instructions
■
Make sure that there are no bystanders or
animals within a radius of 15 metres when
using the tool. The operator is responsible for
third parties within the working area.
■
Keep the appliance, the cutting mechanism and
the blade guard in good condition to prevent
injury.
■
Children must be supervised to make sure that
they do not play with the appliance.
■
Do not use the appliance until you have famil-
iarised yourself with its use.
■
Do not work with a damaged or incomplete
appliance or an appliance that has been modi-
fied without the consent of the manufacturer.
Never use the appliance with defective protec-
tive equipment. Do not use the appliance if it
has a defective on/off switch. Before use, check
the safety condition of the appliance, especially
the blade and the saw chain. If the appliance
has been dropped, check for significant
damage or defects.

Never start the appliance before it is correctly
assembled.
■
When starting and operating the appliance,
ensure that it does not come into contact with
the ground, stones, wire or other foreign mate-
rial. Switch off the appliance before you put it
down.

The appliance is designed for two-handed oper-
ation. Never work with one hand. Make sure
that the appliance is switched off when relo-
cating the appliance and that you cannot acci-
dentally touch the on/off switch. Carry the
appliance with the blade facing backwards. Fit
the blade guard during transportation.

Before use
Charge battery pack (see fig. B)
CAUTION!

Always unplug the appliance before you
remove the battery pack from or connect
the battery pack to the charger.
NOTE
►
Never charge the battery pack at an ambient
temperature of below 10°C or above 40°C.
If a lithium-ion battery is going to be stored
for an extended period, the charge level
should be checked regularly. The optimum
charge level is between 50% and 80%. The
storage climate should be cool and dry and
the ambient temperature should be between
0°C and 50°C.

Connect the battery pack r to the high-speed
battery charger z (see fig. B).

Insert the power plug into the socket. The green
charge control LED p lights up briefly, then the
red control LED o lights up.

The green charge control LED p indicates that
charging is complete and the battery pack r is
ready for use.
CAUTION!
♦
If the red control LED o flashes, this means
that the battery pack r has overheated and
cannot be charged.
If the red and green control LEDs o/p both
♦
flash, this means that the battery pack r is
defective.
♦
Push the battery pack r into the appliance.
♦
Switch off the charger for at least 15 minutes
between successive charging sessions. Also
disconnect the power plug from the mains
power socket.
