15B Activation/exclusion button (red LED on)
for the CELL function (cellulosic or alumi-
num electrode welding).
When the CELL function is not active, the
VRD is automatically inserted.
16. Menu button for the regulation of welding
parameters (red LED on). Press the but-
ton several times to visualize the welding
parameters related to the selected pro-
cess, and which can be adjusted using
the knob (pos. 2).
In MMA welding, keep the button pressed
for 5 seconds to select or disable (red
LED on or off) the VRD function.
In TIG welding, this button saves and re-
calls the adjusted welding parameters.
See paragraph PROG SAVE AND RE-
CALL.
16A Menu button for the regulation of welding
parameters (red LED on). Press the but-
ton several times to visualize the welding
parameters related to the selected pro-
cess, and which can be adjusted using
the knob (pos. 2).
Time of gradual current increase (up-
slope), adjustable with knob (pos. 2)
from 0 to 10 s.
Hs/Af Hot start function (red LED on + letter
H on the display)/Arc force function
(red LED flashing + letter A on the di-
splay); these values can be adjusted
using the knob (pos. 2).
Warning: Single LED for the 2 fun-
ctions on 305HF.
Hs
Hot start function (over current when
the MMA arc is triggered); this value
can be adjusted using the knob (pos.
2).
Af
Arc force function (over voltage for
arc stability in MMA); this value can
be adjusted using the knob (pos. 2).
Ib
Base current in pulsed mode: percen-
tage value (adjustable with knob pos.
2) of the peak current (lw).
Hz
Pulsed current frequency adjustable
with knob (pos. 2), from 0 to 500 Hz.
Iw
Welding current (red LED on), adju-
stable with the knob (pos. 2) located
on the front part of the generator (from
5A to the maximum current issued by
the generator) or on the remote con-
trol (red LED lw flashing). In this case
the maximum current will be the cur-
rent set using the knob (pos. 2) on the
front part of the generator.
Time of gradual current reduction
(down-slope), adjustable with knob
(pos. 2) from 0 to 15 s. Only 305HF.
Icf
Final current: percentage (adjustable
with knob pos. 2) of the welding cur-
rent (lw).
In 4T mode the duration of the final
current (lcf) is established by the user
by means of the torch button.
Warning: This function is not available
in 2T mode.
Post gas adjustable by means of knob
pos. 2 (from 0 to 20 s). Only 305HF.
Notes:
- Any adjustments to a welding pa-
rameter are immediately memorized
and made available for welding.
- Five seconds after the last parame-
ter regulation, the generator automati-
cally exits menu configuration (imme-
diate exit when the welding process
starts).
WELDING WITH COATED
ELECTRODES (MMA)
• Connect the earth lead to the negative (-)
Dinse socket of the generator (pos. 4) and
the earth clamp to the piece which is to be
welded.
• Connect the welding cable to the positive
(+) Dinse socket of the generator (pos. 5) and
correctly fix the coated electrode (filler mate-
rial) on the electrode holder.
Warning: Respect the positive or nega-
tive polarity (DC+, DC-) marked on the
packaging of the electrodes.
• While holding the electrode holder, sup-
ply the generator with power by pressing the
start/stop (ON/OFF) button on the rear panel
(pos. A) of the generator. Warning: The wel-
ding machine will suggest the configurations
used in the previous welding
• Use the button in pos. 14 to select the elec-
trode welding procedure (MMA).
• Use the button in pos. 16, or 16A (depen-
ding on the generator) to select "menu" or
"set" (depending on the generator) and set
the Hot Start and Arc Force parameters:
• Hs/Af LED (or Hs LED only) on with fi-
xed light – the display shows "H": rotate the
adjustment knob pos. 2 to adjust the Hot
Start value. The display will show the set
value.
